Guest guest
Debra - Is there wetness from the retching? If so, perhaps a bedwetting alarm could be placed where it would detect it. Hugs and prayers, Debbie From the keyboard of DW33333333@...: > Actually Tryny's bed is right next to ours (Tryny has severe apnea at night, > his monitor goes off sometimes 10 times a night) and the only way to get him > breathing again is for me to stimulate him (Tryny being deaf he doesn't hear > the alarm). So for me to get even the 4 hours sleep I get a night, he will > always stay where he is. But when he retches, he makes NO noise at all. > > Thanks for the suggestion though, all suggestions are very welcome. -- + Debbie Tropiano -- debbie@... -- http://www.icus.com/personal.html + | Mommy to b: 8/17/1995, ^Sara^ b: 10/25/2000 d: 11/7/2000 & | | Leah b: 10/17/2001 a: 9/26/2002 " God shows His opposition to cancer and | | birth defects, not by eliminating them or making them happen only to bad | | people (He can't do that), but by summoning forth friends and neighbors | + to ease the burden and to fill the emptiness. Guest guest
Debra, Is there any way to attach a vibrator to the apnea monitor? It might serve 2 purposes: one the monitor going off and alerting Tryny and two, it might stimulate him enough that you wouldn't have to. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Carolyn Mother of Tanis 2 CHARGEr and Dennis 2 1/2 months I am new to this site. I was informed at my 2 month old's birth that our 2 year old had CHARGE (already had been suggested, never confirmed). Withing several weeks we moved to San Diego (military). Once here, I was researching CHARGE when I found this group.

Guest guest
Debbie, Is there any type of alarm that you could attach to his person that will sound if he retches i.e. takes to deep a breathe, muscles contracts a different way? When our now 2 year old first came home after his first heart surgery and no monitors, I was scared to death he'd die before I could get to him if he quit breathing. I can't imagine the fear of losing your son to this ulcer because there isn't anything to help you know when he is retching. I pray that someone will have an answer or suggestion that will work.
