Guest guest
Hi, We started enzymes about 10 days ago. We started with Zyme Prime (a dusting) and I build it up to 1/3 or 1/2 cap a meal (3x a day) - on this only, my son was doing a lot of noise (verbal stim) and we saw a little bit of aggression. About 4 days after we started GABA (morning) and Cod Liver Oil (mid afternoon) - He was doing SOOOO WELLL, with behavior. About 3 days ago we started Peptizyde for lunch and dinner, first a dusting, today we went up to 1/3 cap. All together, this are the supplements he is taking a day: 1 cap. GABA 1 cap. Zyme Prime 1/2 cap. Peptyzide 2 caps Kirkman's CLO (about 2500 units Vit. A) He gets really silly, impulsive and aggressive about 1 hour after taking Peptyzide. Yesterday he stole a piece of chewing gum. Everything that I ask him to do, he answers NO!!! Even keeping his seatbelt fastened is a challenge now (this kid used to insist on everyone using a seatbelt!!!) I know this may all expected, but could it be that we are moving too fast with the enzymes and supplements? Other than behavior, his stool seems so much better now (less " flat " ). Today he didn't have a BM yet (we upped Peptizyde yesterday) which is also " normal " . I am thinking that I should give him activated charcoal, but don't know HOW MUCH??? Would it be a pill after each meal, or before each meal??? Or should I give him more GABA (supposed to help with the impulsivity!) Thanks for your help Coral SCD (almost 8 weeks) J (ASD, 9y/o)

Guest guest
If you take it before the meal won't it pull out the supplements you're giving at the meal? Our dr. said at bedtime and most meds should be given by dinner at the latest. Maybe others have more info? Guest guest
Activated charcoal will absorb just about anything organic (and some non-organic compounds too). It is given to absorb toxins - like a sponge. So take it at least an hour after anything you want the body to absorb or it will absorb you supplements and foods. Here is more on activated charcoal with specifics: http://www.enzymestuff.com/activatedcharcoal.htm On the behavior...actually, it sounds like you are moving pretty fast with all the supplements. 10 days isn't that long to adjust to all that is being put in the body. So I would suggest reducing the Peptizyde or CLO or GABA a bit, or at least holding at the current level until he adjusts. It can take 10 days to 3-4 weeks to really adjust to any one of those. Enzymes will also make the other supplements more available to the body. Building up slowly was great! But seeing positives along with any negatives is good overall. Indicates adjustment instead of intolerance with enzymes. Peptizyde in particular can have a big impact on die-off of pathogens as well as cleaning gunk out. This can contribute to the silliness and other things. It isn't surprising you saw that change with Peptizyde but not the other enzymes. The GABA would be one influencing 'attitude' if I had to choose one. It directly acts on the mood neurotransmitters. So if things don't improve soon, try reducing or stopping that one. .
