Guest guest
I've stopped using aluminum and try to stick mostly with Pyrex. It's the food that concerns me. My youngest is completely addicted to microwave pancakes - it is his absolute most favorite. After reading an article last night (which was actually about Alzeimers and the list of symtoms which happen to match my older sons closer than anything else I've yet to come across ) - one article lead to another and another and another...you know how that goes....anyhow I was shocked to realize when you see "aluminum" in the ingredients, it's quite literally aluminum. Experts seem to go back and forth about whether or not consuming it is dangerous as some believe the body naturally flushes it out. While anybody who has recovered themselves from Alzeimers (by eliminating aluminum out of their cookware, health and beauty aids and food) will say otherwise. I tend to believe these people who have recovered themselves...for obvious reason. : ) To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Wed, April 21, 2010 8:37:06 AMSubject: Re: Aluminum Poisoning - parchment paper If I want to use aluminum foil for whatever reason - convenience mostly - i wrap the food in parchment paper first so the foil is not touching the food>> I stopped using aluminum foil as a liner under food in the oven... now food> goes in glass baking dish (which I guess supposedly leeches out lead; can't> win )> >> > -- > Toni> > ------> Mind like a steel trap...> Rusty and illegal in 37 states.>

Guest guest
that's my next project and it's definitely do-able. it's the damn baking powder that contains the aluminum. My daughter told me you can exchange the baking powder for baking soda - u just have to change the amounts. I'll have to look around. my brain is on information overload -I don't know how much more I can take in before it explodes. That will be my last quest, I think, for a while. I need time to digest all this info. I've gone from not having an email address in 7 years to practically living in front of this computer. Guest guest
I do that - take the left overs and freeze. It's quick, easy, and not a lot of mess. (Make sure the pancakes are " big " as they can get stuck in the toaster.) Also, I gave up on the microwave about 3 years ago because it changes the molecular structure of food. My family thought I was crazy, and they are very nice when I visit, not to microwave my food (or my kids food.) -- After working in the food service industry -- the microwave us used quite often. So I tend to get things out that I know they don't microwave. However, I think I have started a trend, as my family have all commented that they were thinking about " upgrading " their microwaves to small ovens... Google " the dangers of microwaves " -- it's nothing short of astonishing. I also got rid of all my plastic wear. Honestly, when I was working (outside the home.) -- It was almost if not difficult to keep this up. However, they do make dishes that are 'safe' that one can use. I use cast iron pans, and stone wear from pampered chef...as a way of cleaning up our environment in our home. I also tend to rely on ceramic dishes for casseroles and oven cooking. Yes, the initial cost of changing these things out is pricey, but like my sister, you can do it over time, (or get it for Xmas or Hanukkah gifts.) After a while, you find you don't miss these things. laura > > > > > > I stopped using aluminum foil as a liner under food in the oven... now > > food > > > goes in glass baking dish (which I guess supposedly leeches out lead; > > can't > > > win ) > > > > > > > > > > > > -- > > > Toni > > > > > > ------ > > > Mind like a steel trap... > > > Rusty and illegal in 37 states. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > -- > Toni > > ------ > Mind like a steel trap... > Rusty and illegal in 37 states. >

Guest guest
, people will start commenting how smart I am after they stop looking at me like I've gone completely off the deep end???? (my hubby included) lol. I've started saving my glass jars and using those for storage. , I was actually wondering about pampered chef - I used to own the pizza stone (and loved it)- I need something other than a giant pyrex casserole dish to bake cookies on. Experts seem to go back and forth about whether or not consuming it is dangerous as some believe the body naturally flushes it out. While anybody who has recovered themselves from Alzeimers (by eliminating aluminum out of their cookware, health and beauty aids and food) will say otherwise. I tend to believe these people who have recovered themselves.. .for obvious reason. : ) From: <lisafcolinyahoo (DOT) com>To: mb12 valtrex@ yahoogroups. comSent: Wed, April 21, 2010 8:37:06 AMSubject: Re: Aluminum Poisoning - parchment paper If I want to use aluminum foil for whatever reason - convenience mostly - i wrap the food in parchment paper first so the foil is not touching the food>> I stopped using aluminum foil as a liner under food in the oven... now food> goes in glass baking dish (which I guess supposedly leeches out lead; can't> win )> >> > -- > Toni> > ------> Mind like a steel trap...> Rusty and illegal in 37 states.> -- Toni------Mind like a steel trap...Rusty and illegal in 37 states. Guest guest
, people will start commenting how smart I am after they stop looking at me like I've gone completely off the deep end???? (my hubby included) lol. I've started saving my glass jars and using those for storage. , I was actually wondering about pampered chef - I used to own the pizza stone (and loved it)- I need something other than a giant pyrex casserole dish to bake cookies on. If those stones contain no lead, that would be perfect! yum! yum! To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Wed, April 21, 2010 10:25:51 AMSubject: Re: Re: Aluminum Poisoning - parchment paper I know how you feel. But I promise, your brain won't explode, in fact people will begin to tell you how smart you are and ask where you learned all this stuff. You will just smile and remember where you used to be on the information highway.nancy j I've stopped using aluminum and try to stick mostly with Pyrex.
