I must have missed the original post. PLEASE go to the dr or ER. Our daughter has gotten migraines since she was in her early teens and has never had one last more that a few days. You are in my prayers.

I would expect more of a reaction or at least more of a conversation about such an important topic. It IS an important topic--both the headaches and the Tysabri report. I can't imagine why the Cymbalta would make you have the reaction you did on the road the other day. Cymbalta doesn't make me "feel" anything odd--no drowsiness, confusion, etc. But I know every person is different. Is this the neuro who does the Tysabri infusion? Yesterday, I was turning my car around, to get back on the road. When I got back on the road, everything seemed backward or

There was a Tysabri rep that came to a local MS group I attend sometimes and I couldn't wait to see his information. I left not as excited about it when I left. I told him I was on Copaxone and he told me if I was happy with what I am on keep with it. I also told him I was diabetic and took insulin. The info he gave made it sound like Tysabri can cause trouble while taking some meds. I was also concerned about getting into it since they had all that trouble from people dieing from it. They say they had the trouble figured out. I decided I want to see more test results now that they returned it to the market. His telling me it doesn't work we with some meds made me decide Tysabri wasn't for me.

Hey Sharon~That's kind of what I thought. I can't recall the last

infusion, but fairly sure it was towards the end of August. I'm

thinking I will call the makers of Tysabri and 'chat' with them

on the phone...I will run by the headache--I don't recall seeing

it in any of the literature I've read about Tysabri.

I had my neuropsych results reviewed today. Nothing too

earth-shattering--some 'lack or loss' of executive function--

which I think is front--lobal involvement. Pretty severe diminish-

ment in motor skill in both right (dominant) and left hand--

individually, and together.

Her recommendations: to have therapy (psychiatric/talk);

to have a sleep study, and to have visual and congitive training

with a qualified neuro psych--one who specializes in MS.

I wish these darn headaches would just cease! They seem to

be growing both in duration and intensity!

I used to get frequent headaches. Some migraines and some so bad that I got

sick to my stomach. Sometimes I would get so bad that I had to go home and

sleep it off, a couple that took up to three days to get totallly rid of.

Then when we found out about the kidney disease (bartters syndrom) and

that I had low potassium and magnesium levels. Since I got my magnesuim

levels back up, I rarely get headaches any more.

Those time that I feel a headache coming on I take one or two magonate pills

Magonate 27 mg of Mg in tablet (also available in liquid)

I don't know why did didn't think of that. My husband gets very bad charlie horses in his legs and breaks out with, what look like hickies. His Dr. told him it was because of low potassium. So, when we can afford it, I make sure we either have potassium supplements or some kind of potassium rich food available for him.

I think I'm going to see if magnesium supplements might help my migraines. I used to take Topamax for the migraines, but they always made me feel foggy and my hand always felt like they were vibrating. Ewww....And then of course, the way it made food and drinks taste...disgusting.

Thank you for the information. I am sorry to hear about all of the illnesses that you have to endure. I am lifting you in prayer.

Well, there are those powders for broth (as in for soup, etc.) that are

potassium chloride based, rather than sodium chloride based. The

other thing is that prescription very low dose potassium chloride does

not cost much and the physician can make it extremely low doseage.

I take this for muscle cramps as well. I also take vitamin K in addition

to a very good multi-vitamin. None of what I do might apply to anyone

else, but it works for me, and my physician and I are happy--a rare

phenomenon. I would like to know more about Bartter's Syndrome,

too, though.

I used to get frequent headaches. Some migraines and some so bad that I got sick to my stomach. Sometimes I would get so bad that I had to go home and sleep it off, a couple that took up to three days to get totallly rid of.Then when we found out about the kidney disease (bartters syndrom) and that I had low potassium and magnesium levels. It uses the glucose uptakes for absorption. I also use this one when I am getting a migrane headache. Post it notes are just one of those inventions that I can't live without! I save coupons even! I buy all kinds of colors, shapes and sizes! I love them! Sorry to hear, though, that you are having these ugly symptoms that I am dealing with. Fortunately, I am still working so I just don't have the time to dwell. Wanna hear something funny. I hired my girlfriend as a temp to come in and help me file. She looked at me today and said she had an appt on Wed this next week and wanted me to remind her so she wouldn't be late. The problem with the headaches, from my neuro, is that if they are migraines, then they can cause lesions as well. When I had

my first MRI, it showed several lesions that were dormant. My neuro said these were more likely to be caused by my migraines and not MS. So, as a precaution, he ordered a deeper set of MRI and not just of my head. He also ordered blood tests, eye tests, spinal tap.....I could go on. At first I felt like he was abusing my insurance. That is until the second set of MRI's with contrast. Boy did I have a bundle of glowing lesions on the brain and one significant one on my spine. Now I know he was concerned and didn't want to alarm me, although we had already discussed MS and even started the Rebif as a precaution. If it turned out that I didn't have MS, the Rebif wouldn't hurt me. Since then he has moved 65 miles away to my hospital's sister clinic. And yes! I followed him! He's kinda hot too! LOL But married. Darn. I guess what I'm trying to say is do what your neuro says until YOU don't

feel comfortable with him/her. Then find another that makes you comfortable. As far as the things that have happened, welcome to MS. I turn my left blinker on to go right. I forget where I'm going when I'm driving. I keep a cell phone fully charged at all times and in my purse (God help should I ever forget my purse somewhere!) I'll make a call and forget who I'm calling, even after they have answered. Sometimes I don't recognize the voice. Tonight my typing is good. Some days I think the back button is gonna overheat and quit working! Hang in there. If I can get through standing in the middle of the grocery store and not understand what I'm reading on the label of items on the shelf, then start crying cause I feel so lost, so can you! I think I've cried more today than ever before. I have tears welling just telling you these things. You can post, ask, say, advise, anything here. I
