Guest guest
, Your BP is running very high. Have you talked to your Neph about adding another BP med? It might be in order.
Guest guest
My BP gets really high even on the meds. I am on the patch, Catapres TTS 3, and love it. I change it every Friday. But if I take it off at night and don't remember to put one on until morning I wake with a HUGE BP headache. New Years Day it was 198/134 and when I was having my son it was 204/180 and that was on magnesium (sp?), a massive muscle relaxer used during labor for lowering BP. Since I was 20 I have been told many times by ER docs that my BP will be the death of me. Nobody wants to hear they're gonna have a stroke when they're that young. But I use the patch and I rarely forget to replace it ,it keeps my BP generaly in the 124/88 range. I check my BP at home. My baby sis just had to increase her dose, she was on the 1, a half inch square, and now she's on the 2. I started with the 2 and right off the bat had to move up to the 3, 1 x 1.5 inches. They only go to 4. Sorry that was a bit longwinded it's one of those " why did I get out of bed " days. It's 26 degrees here in St. Louis, and I am frozen. We had an appointment down town today for my son, we had to be there at 9:45 this morning and it's a 45 minute drive for us. I am ready for a nap. Guest guest
Catapres (otherwise known as clonidine), is one of those drugs that you risk some heavy rebound hypertension if you miss even one dose. Guest guest
We have been excited that the bottom # is below 100 for now. I forget to take my oral meds so the docs just happy that I have been on the same dose with the patch for almost a year. As long as I remember to replace it right away I am good to go.
