a BFing question (two actually)

If you're exclusively BFing, you don't have to give your baby

drinks of cooled boiled water, do you? (I haven't been and don't

intend to, I just want to know what the consensus view is...I was

at the postnatal group today again!)

And question no.2...Verity has been having peculiar turns over

the last few days where she gets all worked up and seems to be

hungry, latches on for about 2 sucks, arches her back and

screams, takes my little finger and sucks it for a couple of

minutes, calms down and then will latch on and feed happily. Any

ideas anyone as to why this is happening? Haven't eaten anything

unusual and am drinking enough fluids in this hot weather so I

know that isn't the cause but I'm a bit bemused by it and would

appreciate any thoughts from anyone.
