The ridge on the square end of the strip must be facing upwards when you insert the strip into the meter. Make sure the strip is inserted firmly into the meter. Then you should hear the meter say Thank you for using Prodigy Voice. Any other questions just ask be it the Voice or the Auto Code meter. If it is not doing these things, then you may either be putting the strip in wrong (the most comman reason) or you need a new meter! If the volume down button is pushed the appropriate number of times, it will eventually say " voice off " or something like that. In theory, it would be possible to do this without realizing it, or I wonder if the meter might have been shipped with the voice volume turned off? Dave Writing and speaking for a Higher purpose. As well, have you tried to press the up arrow key to make sure the volume is turned on?
