Guest guest
I highly encourage it. For information purposes, we file liens when the injuries sustained are the result of another party, or when the injuries may result in a financial settlement. The lien is filed *only* against the potential settlement. If you need any further help, email me privately, and I'll do the best I can, or send you in the right direction. Mike From: jane_e_hill I just attempted to upload forms that any of your services can use to legally file liens against car insurance liability settlements for those MVC victims you treat and/or transport. These were originally provided to me as hospital forms by Mike Hatfield. One of my employees (Josh Power) patiently scanned and worked with them until he had cleaned them up to what I would call " pretty " and converted them to EMS forms - taking the word " hospital " out of them. I am having some problems posted the second page of the Release Form and will have to watch for it to show up on the list to ensure it posted, but if not, I will repost it. Filing EMS liens are now perfectly legal in this context, and you are welcome to use these if you like. Guest guest
Mike we also filed when we were hospital based. However, as a county based provider we could not. Did I miss something that would allow us to do so? I admit I have not followed this thread until today. Guest guest
Henry, the law was passed now allowing EMS to file liens against liability insurance, just like hospitals. Ron H sent me the wording of the law in an e-mail, but it is located on my work computer or I would repost it here. It is now legal. As Jane said, the new law gave EMS (non hospital based) the ability to file liens as well. 'Tater Salad' Hatfield " I had the right to remain silent, but I did not have the ability.
