Louise Sydney - Dessicated kicking in

Hi Guys

I wanted to give an update and try to get a little advice.

After being on T3 for nearly 5 months my doc and I decided to start on

dessicated.

Taking advice from Nick as Val was moving at the time, I reduced one of my 10mcg

doses a day and replaced with 1 grain of NTH. I also started iodine

supplementation at same time. (So 30mcg T3 and 1 grain NTH daily for 11 days).

I have felt and look pretty good for about 10 days. But last night after my

4.30 10mcg dose of T3 the shakes, felt hot and high heart rate kicked in. That's

how I feel when I am truly hyperT.

So I am guessing that the T4 storage in the replacement NTH dose has kicked in.

I am lowering my T3 by 10mcg again today and will increase my NTH by 1/2 grain

to compensate. I figure that should help with the hyperT feelings.

I had high cortisol in the evening and night sample of my saliva test 4 months

ago. But I was having heart palps etc about a month ago and thought that it was

my adrenals but looking back at my diary I think my body wasn't coping with the

big doses of T3 that I would take at a time - 20mcg at 6, 10 at lunch and 20 at

night. So I asked my doc for HC. He wasn't convinced but told me to

experiement. But from the moment I started HC I felt nausea every morning, and

tired. And I noticed was was very cranky and angry. Eight days into it I went

completely off the rails with anger and that was when I decided to stop taking

it. Was on 20 per day of HC. I weaned off and have been much better.

This morning I woke up feeling nausea and had a little bit of the runs on the

toilet (low cortisol??). So Im wondering should I be taking something to

support my adrenals through this transition from T3 to NTH or should I weather

the storm. I don't know if its high or low cortisol. Is it possible to for

your adrenals to yo-yo between both?? I do have some DHEA (and read in an

earlier post that DHEA helped lower cortisol??). Can't seem to get PS in

Australia.

I know I have low ferritin and B12 but working on that and I am definitely

improving there - I can feel it. My temps are low and a unstable but not

dramatically unstable. My temps have lowered since coming off the HC. Maybe I

started to hard and fast on the HC in the first place? I went straight from

zero to 20.

Any advice would be welcomed.

Cheers

Louise
