Guest guest
> My son is three and we've done four rounds of chelation. He got sick and then we've been traveling so he has chelated in almost three weeks. He's also been off his vitamins for about a week. He's been doing great and we've seen some nice improvements this week, but I started him back on his vitamins this morning and today he's very stimmy. Could the vitamins be causing this? He takes Vit C, B, E, milk thistle, cod liver oil, magnesium, zinc, selenium, beta caretine. He takes the dose per Andy's recommendation. Any thoughts on this? I will copy here the relevant portion of my round 26-31 chelation update. It may be that your child no longer needs at least one of these supplements -- " I challenged gluten again. I tried casein with enzymes several months ago, and they tolerate it just fine, but when I tried gluten plus enzymes before I began chelating, my kids regressed after about 10 days. But this time they tolerate it! I have been giving one piece of regular bread each day, and some days I also give Ritz crackers [which they insist on calling " cookies " ], and my kids have no problems! Right now I really don't give a lot, just one piece of regular bread per day, and occasionally Ritz crackers, but so far it has been about three weeks and no problems. ..... " Then another very strange thing happened. I give a mineral supplement on chelation " off " days, to supplement for any essential minerals which chelation might remove. When I added this supplement several rounds ago, my kids actually improved. But after I added back gluten, they started doing WORSE on off days than on chelating days. I removed the mineral supplement and they improved again. This was very strange to me. But then, after round 30, #2 started visual stims again, and #3 started chewing on objects and his skin rash increased. These things usually went away after the round, but this time they did not. They were not doing these things very much, but more than they had after the last few rounds. " I tried several things, including increasing the supplements I was giving, none of which worked. So I decided to remove all supplements except a very few, and start over. So I removed the vitamin B/C supplement, the calcium supplement, and the CLO. I kept HNI enzymes, ALA for chelating days, zinc for non-chelating days, and GSE [1 drop on day 2 and day 3 chelating]. When I first added these supplements several rounds back, they not only tolerated them but I saw noticeable improvement in my kids. But now when I removed them, my kids are doing AMAZING! Guest guest
--We are not chelating at this time but just finished yeast treatment. My son also is doing better (less stimmy) off his vitamins. My Dr. thinks it's possible that the vitamins were " feeding " the yeast and causing behaviors. We removed them and saw a definite improvement. - In @y..., " danaatty " <danaatty@y...> wrote: > > > My son is three and we've done four rounds of chelation. So maybe I should take him off all and start a couple at a time? Is it ok to not be on them while chelating? I wanted to start round 5 tomorrow. Guest guest
-Hi Madeline, We used sporanox. It is a strong antifungal and requires a liver function test. It was effective enough to see some language gains. Stimming still persists but not as bad as when we were on sporanox and vitamins. He is doing better off of everything. I think we will have to go back on sporanox or another to get rid of the yeast completely.I'm not sure what you meant by symptoms- of yeast or vitamins? Let me know and I'll try to be more specific. -- In @y..., Madeline Villasante <dumivi@y...> wrote: > > Hi, > what kind of treatment did you have for the yeast problem, and what was the symtomps in your son. > thanks for any info. > silvia > beccabran2 <beccabran2@y...> wrote: --We are not chelating at this time but just finished yeast > treatment. Guest guest
Dana, Why do you think giving them improved them and then removing them had " amazing results " . Do you think they got what they needed and they didnt need them anymore? I dont always give the vitamins continuously to my son (and he is always improving--iy sems to me) because i think sometimes his body needs down days . I dont know if this is accurate (and we have taken a break from chelating BTW). Interested to know your reasoning behind this expereince? Anyone else have any? I wanted to start round 5 tomorrow. I started chelating without any supplements because at first my son tolerated basically none of them. I use ALA only, not DMSA, not sure that makes any difference. Just based on reading notes by many parents, my guess is that the CLO is a likely candidate for being one your child does not tolerate. Do you use enzymes? Some parents report that their child tolerates CLO along with No-Fenol. Because apparently your child does not tolerate at least one of the supplements, I would do what you suggest. Stop all of them, then start them one at a time and see if your child has a negative reaction. Dana

Do you think they got what they needed and they didnt need them anymore? I am not really sure why my kids improved when I started these supplements after they finally tolerated them, then they improved when I removed them. The only differences were another round of ALA, and ability to add back gluten. So my " guess " is that the vitamins included in the bread were enough for my kids, so the extra vitamins caused problems. > > I dont always give the vitamins continuously to my son (and he is always improving--iy sems to me) because i think sometimes his body needs down days . I dont know if this is accurate (and we have taken a break from chelating BTW). It might be that they need the " down days " , so if I see regression in the future, I will consider adding them back. But for now, my kids are doing great, so I am happy. Glad to hear your son is always improving! Dana
Guest guest
I'm doing round 6 of chelation. He's not be very stimmy at all until I tried adding some of his supplements back again. I just don't feel right not giving him supps while chelating. These are the ones I cut him down to. Which do you think might be the culprit? Vit B, Vit. C, Zinc, Magnesium, Milk Thistle. Thanks everyone. Diane
