Guest guest
there are defining lines with PANDAS< if things like antihistamines are effecting it, it wouldn't be PANDAS related as it's not an allergy therefor wouldn't be cured with something like that. PANDAS is also backed with titers. that go up and down with treatment, I would not guess that in situations you discribed that titers would fit into that Re: Antivirals for PITANDS/PANDAS .... in the light of "PANDAS" symptoms being massively reduced by anunrelated medicine with antihistamine and antiandrenergic action... meaning that in some/many kids what we think as "PANDAS" is somethingelse entirely....Natasa> > > > >> > > > >> > > > > Â> > > > >> > > > > I have two children dx with PITANDS and they doctor wants to> try> > > > Valtrex to help them as it crosses the blood-brain barrier. The> > > problem> > > > is that I can't afford the medication. Guest guest
We've got titers, I know some with the same symptom cluster that don't. Mine cannot withstand high dose abx. I always tell people that in 2010 the word to use to describe him is PANDAS/PITAND (400 yrs ago they would have burned him at the stake) but I don't for a minute think that what we're calling PANDAS isn't just the outer, visible, palpable layer of what's really going on inside this kid. It's a great starting point, though, and I'm all for anything that brings about abatement of symptoms and adds to the quality of his life while more in depth search continues. Mine responds to supps that boost methylation, which may also explain why he responds to things that lower histamine levels (if Pfeifer's work is accurate). Its in the pooling of info and different views that answers come and I'm so thankful for everyone's.To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Wed, November 17, 2010 7:09:06 PMSubject: Re: Re: Antivirals for PITANDS/PANDAS there are defining lines with PANDAS< if things like antihistamines are effecting it, it wouldn't be PANDAS related as it's not an allergy therefor wouldn't be cured with something like that. Guest guest
may be the boosting of methylation is boosting the immune system. which in turn helps fight the PANDAS or autoimmune issues Re: Antivirals for PITANDS/PANDAS .... in the light of "PANDAS" symptoms being massively reduced by anunrelated medicine with antihistamine and antiandrenergic action... meaning that in some/many kids what we think as "PANDAS" is somethingelse entirely....Natasa> > > > >> > > > >> > > > > Â> > > > >> > > > > I have two children dx with PITANDS and they doctor wants to> try> > > > Valtrex to help them as it crosses the blood-brain barrier. The> > > problem> > > > is that I can't afford the medication.
