,

Thanks. just drove out with the last of her stuff for their

apartment. I couldn't keep the tears away. The pride, joy, " I can't

believe she is doing so well " , slight fear for her, and the " she doesn't need

me day to day any more " emotions swamped me big time. When she left she said, "

I will call you tomorrow night. " . It will be a long 24 hours for us and a new

adventure for . She works tomorrow too so she will be busy.

Blessings and Hugs,

Lynn

Update

Hi,

Just a note to let everyone know is doing fine. Her left ear

with the replacement permanent PE tube is back to normal aided

hearing. The left ear is still full of disovable gauze. She has

started the drops and on Aug. 26th the doctor will clean out the

ear. He is very confident that her aided hearing will be back to

where it was. It has been about 7 months since she could hear out if

the right ear.

Our biggest accomplishment is that yesterday she moved into an

apartment with two other girls. They are in but not settled.

lived in a dorm at college last year. She has switched colleges,

switched majors and is excited about being " out on her own " . She

lives about 45 miles from home and about 50 miles from her

boyfriend. Far enough to be independent, but close enough to home if

need be. Her college last year was 2 hrs. away. It takes me about

50 min. to reach her apartment now.

She starts college at Lakeland Community College on Aug. 30.

This sememster she will take Accounting, Micro Economics,

Logic/Philosophy, and Computers. She is majoring in business and

hotel management. She has her work cut out for her. She plans to

work part time too. As Mom's do, I worry about her over doing and

staying healthy.

Blessings and Hugs.

Lynn

So, my birthday came and went without much hooplah which is okay with

me. I don't feel any older and the day isn't the same since Osama Bin

Laden became a filthy word in our country.

I got 2 parakeets as a gift from my hubby, daughter, and son. They are

blue and white and very vocal. It's hard keeping the cats away from

them. Well, really just one cat, Charlie. The other cat, Cocoa, is

pretty much used to them. She figures if they're in the house then they

belong here and she leaves them alone. She doesn't even go after the

squirrels that come up on the porch when she's laying out there!!! I

had named them Hope and Faith for 9/11 but discovered that they are

both males, so that won't work. I am now deciding between Pride and

something(haven't come up with anything to go with it yet) or Bada &

Bing (for the Italian in me!!!) I'd like to stick with the 9/11 theme,

so if anyone has any suggestions to go with Pride I'd love to hear them.

I've been feeling a little off for the past few days. I've had a

migraine and been feeling sick to my stomach. My legs have been achy

and I've been dizzy and have the tremors in my hands back. The weather

hasn't been that great so I'm wondering if it's just that, the change

of seasons?

I started P/T on Monday and we're taking it slow. Did I already post

about this? My mind is not working too well either. I was supposed to

go today but my head is still hurting. Just wanted to catch up quick

before I headed back to bed. Had to get Zack off to school anyways and

get a few b-day cards out. A nephew and twin nieces!!! September is a

big b-day month around here. Tomorrow is my 2nd appt. for the cognitive

testing. Should be interesting feeling the way I do!!

may here today about going to the city. If he does he will have

to report by Monday. I hope steps up. She hasn't been very

helpful so far so I'm not getting my hopes up too high. She did tell me

last night that if I get approved for disability befoer she turns 18

that she will be eleigible for financial aid. She turns 18 in January.

Not much time. Or is it before she graduates? Oh, I don't remember!!!

GGGGRRRR, so frustrating!!!

Well, I'm going back to bed!!! Maybe my memory will come back to me

when I get back up, LOL!!!

Hugs,

Peggy

update

Hi all,

I've had the worst week or weeks I have ever had since my TM days.

I have had severe back and leg pain, my left eye is really giving me more pain then ever before, even to the point of wanting to wanting to cry. I am having angina pain almost every hour to the point of taking 2 or 3 nitro pills before it subsides. I can't concentrate, I can't breath. I want to sleep and sleep some more, but the pain keeps me up. I take a loritab and it dulls the pain for an hour or so. That's when I try to sleep.

Sometimes, I think it is not worth the effort to fight this anymore.

I went to the VA and the doctor said I need to be hospitalized so they can treat me with steroids under supervision. I went to my Neuro and he said take more pain pills. I can't take steroids at home because of diabetes and the side effects they cause. MY cardiologist did an EKG and said the same thing, blockage in my smaller veins nothing he can do. He won't put me in the hospital, same as the neuro. I have a call into the nuero again and try to plead my case.

I am sorry for venting and feeling sorry for myself.

I'm so sorry I missed your B-day. How did that happen? Did I just forget to check my mail or something?

I love birds! That is so cool. I'd love to have a couple of canaries. One orange and a red one. I've never had parakeets before, but I'd love to have a couple. I love their colors. LOL...I like the names, Bada and Bing. How about Pride and Justice? Or Pride and Liberty?

I hope you are feeling better and I am lifting you in pray.

's two cents on birdie buddy names:

Pete and Repeat...

I like Pride & Glory.. or Pride & Joy...

but Bada & Bing definitely is unique...

I usually watch a new pet for a bit.. before choosing a name..

therefore... the Chocolate Lab we had.. was Hershey... (Cocoa was too common)

the Great Dane.. after awhile became apparent from the way she ran.. Hop-Along-Cassidy.. she got Cassie for short.. (her first name was Daisy.. she didn't look like a Daisy)

Buster Brown.. has now picked up Butter Brown rather than Buster... he's more like Butter.. unless he's in trouble..then he's Buster...

Hope and Faith can still work, too. :o)

You did mention your PT and I'm eager to hear how it goes for you. I'm sorry you're feeling so lousy, Peggy. It's all so stupid, isn't it?

HUGS,

Challis

I'd like to stick with the 9/11 theme, so if anyone has any suggestions to go with Pride I'd love to hear them.I've been feeling a little off for the past few days. Peggy,

Some Parakeets.. will talk... not a tremendous vocabulary, but a few words.. I've never tried.. but my dad always said that you cover their cage when trying to teach them to talk.. I do know that you cover their cage at night.. or when it should be time for them to go to sleep.. (and they don't close their eyes when they sleep.. and they only sleep with half their brain at a time.. one eye is always open)....

Now.. Joe, our Hahn's Macaw.. who is supposed to talk.. and does quiet well (even picked up a word or two he shouldn't have... when I'd stump my toe, or would give Roxie heck for biting him.) but he picked up... "mmmmmm goods" right quick.. might be something the parakeets would pick up as well fairly rapidly.. if as you're putting in their food dishes.. tell them.. time for "mmmm goods".. type thing.. word association...

And I think you'll find that the noise level increases as the sun comes up in the morning.. and as it goes down at night... it's something about the "flocking" instinct... I think that's another reason for covering the cage in the evening.. that way it gets dark QUICK and it gets daylight QUICK in the morning... Unfortunately, around here.. I need a large car cover to cover Roxie's cage at night, because her cage is taller than I am!!! So we must endure the noise level.. lol... She wouldn't let her cage be covered for long anyway.. she's too nosey...

Hope you enjoy your Birthday Buddies..
