Guest guest
The rhythm shows an av sequential pacemaker, with the following characteristics: When a p wave is detected, the atrial pacemaker does not fire. When a QRS complex is detected, the ventricular pacemaker does not fire. When a p wave is not detected the atrial pacemaker does fire. When a QRS complex is detected, the ventricular pacemaker does fire. Thus, the pacemaker is sensing both chambers, the pacemaker is inhibited by each chamber independently. Each chamber can be paced independently. Thus the code for the pacemaker is: DDDRP Pacemakers: Nomenclature Pacers use a 5-letter code: first 3 letters most important 1. First Letter: Chamber Paced A= Atrium V= Ventricle D= Dual (A+V) 2. 2nd Letter: Chamber Sensed A= Atrium V= Ventricle D= Dual (A+V) O= None 3. 3rd Letter: Response after Sensing: I = Pacing Inhibited T= Pacing Triggered D= Dual (I+T) O= None 4. 4th Letter: Programmability P = Rate & Output M = Multiprogramable C = Communicating R = Rate adaptive O = None 5. 5th Letter: Arrhythmia Control P = pacing S= shock D= Dual (P+S) O = None Professor Gandy has informed me that this is correct, and that my fur lined portapotty seat will even be made in a size large enough for me. And I choose the " green " color for it. Guest guest
OK EMS PROFESSIONALS! HERE'S YOUR CHANCE TO LEARN. Professor Rasmussen has articulated a really important lesson below. Now that we are seeing more and more heart transplant patients and more and more complicated pacemakers, it is very helpful to know what it is you're seeing when those little spikes start going everywhere. Professor Rasmussen's Chartreuse Phootster LX Giant-sized PortaPotty, with matching lemur-fur seat, heated urinal, two useless shelves, and gooseneck trailer hitch will be delivered personally by Martha just before she reports to the Federal Correctional Institution. He is donating the nosehair clipper to Martha, as she will need it where she's going. Congratulations, . Great job.
