Guest guest
, if 30% of babies with a single umbilical artery have anomalies, that means 70% do not. When we see SUA on a prenatal ultrasound, we look very closely at the baby for any signs of possible problems, espcially kidney problems. But SUA is not by itself an abnormality or a syndrome. It is a finding that serves as a red flag telling us to look for possible problems. I would expect to see a hgher than average frequency of SUA in babies with CHARGE, but it doesn't really mean anything. Guest guest
Hi, was diagnosed with SUA during a prenatal ultrasound. When she was born not only did the umbilical cord have only one artery, it was also extremely short. Rochel
