Guest guest
Hi Debra! I don't know if you remember me, I'm 's Mom. I was the one discussing the different types of gel masks a while ago. Anyway, what is this treatment that Tryny is on. I'd be interested in finding out because is now having seizures after the stomach flu ( of all things!-how strange!?). Also, do you know if osteoperosis is quite common among CHARGE kids, should I be getting on top of this for too? Candace, Tryny is on the Ketogenic Diet for his Epilepsy. And it has been the best thing I have done for him. He has been TOTALLY SEIZURE FREE since Feb. 23 (which is a total miracle)...... We have even weaned completely off one of the 3 seizure meds and will be starting on the next in about a month. The ketogenic diet is a " high fat " diet with NO carbs at all. You have to start the diet in a hospital as they have to " fast " first for 2 to 3 days. Then the Ketones start producing and the diet keeps the body in a Ketosis state. If you want more info on this, email me directly and I'll share what I know. Debra
Guest guest
hi Candace your email caught my eye ... i'm guessing that your dd has been checked out and someone has given a reason for the seizures?? - ds has trouble with his calcium levels (hypoparathyroidism) and also now with his sodium levels (no particular diagnosis at the moment!) ... and both of these can cause a seizure if his levels were to get low enough ... sorry for butting in if you already know what is going on :0) Jo ds Ben, ds Josh CHaRGE'r ----- Original Message ----- is now having seizures after the stomach > flu ( of all things!-how strange!?).
