Guest guest
Cherie, When I said TB I actually meant active TB not just testing positive. 2 separate things. Having active TB is just too contagious to be nursing a baby. Wendi illness question A note about TB...my friend nursed her daughter. She then had twins and nursed them. Then her doctor (a different one than for her daughter) told her she tested postitive for TB and had to wean. It broke her heart!!!!! After she weaned the babies by several months she switched doctors. This one looked at her history and said.. " No wonder! " You see..she was Mexican and had her shots in Mexico City. For whatever reason, the shots given abroad..at least there...while totally effective showed up posisitve with American tests. She will ALWAYS show up positive even though she doesn't have it and she needn't have weaned her babies. She nursed her next two children without problem. Guest guest
Cherie, That sounds like such a bummer. To be told one thing from a doctor and it ends up being wrong. What frustration. Guest guest
, Don't worry babies get colds and it helps to strengthen their immune system. Drink lots and lots of water. Get in bed with him and nurse and sleep. Take this opportunity to rest with him during the day as he may have restless nights. Just try to keep him comfortable and lots of breastmilk. Make sure you are taking your vitamins. You need to keep yourself really healthy. You can put breastmilk in his nose instead of saline it works the same and won't irritate in the slightest. If you do it about 15 min before he nurses and use the sucker right before, he will be more comfortable nursing. Just give him lots of love and he will be well soon. Wendi illness question Cory has caught a cold. Last night I detected him having a gag-cough. This morning he has yellow/green discharge. I am using saline and the booger sucker to keep his nose free and he's been helping with sneezing alot out. What else can I do? I do not want to use over-the-counter medicines unless it gets worse. No fever and still eating ok. Sleeping a bit more. Poopie is runnier than normal. thanks everyone! ************************************************* - Proud mommy of Gilbert Cory (01-10-99) Imagination Station RFH Childcare " Parenting a child has the greatest potential for pain and love that a human could ever endure " ************************************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Is ONElist important to you?
