My son weighs 48 lbs, and I use 25mg of DMSA and the same for ALA. I noticed change with the first round, and my son just completed his 9th round. So far, I've only seen positive changes. I can't address any negatives at this point. a - Peoria IL _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx

Guest guest
We've done 7 rounds ALA only with our son, who is 5. In some ways he's shown a lot of improvements during that time. Lots of physical things have gotten better. He no longer sweats profusely at night. He is no longer sensitive to the sun and daylight and now will go outside willingly to play in the sunshine. He now, for the first time since he was 2, plays happily with our cats, whereas for the past three years, if one of them so much as brushed him with their tails or sat near his toys, he would panic and scream (sensory stuff has gotten better). However, other things have gotten worse. These may or may not be related to ALA, as I'm also continually trying new supplements, trying to find something that will help or work. Until I have a better feel for what's going on, we're putting a hold on chelation. He has become more sensitive to phenols. For the first time ever, he started exhibiting OCD behaviour. I didn't even know what OCD was until a few weeks ago. He has become hyperactive in long stretches, and this hyperactivity doesn't seem to respond to the yeast protocol that had worked on hyperactivity previously. We gave very tiny doses of ALA, only 5 ml per dose, every 3 hours, 3 day on, 11 or more days off. My son definitely was very irritable and uncomfortable two days following chelation cycles. We learned not to plan any activities with him for those two days. I don't have any answers for you, just am sharing our experiences. According to my son's hair test, he was tremendously high in arsenic, and, if you go by Andy's counting rules, his mineral transport was fine, meaning that mercury might not be a tremendous problem here. It had been almost four years since his last immunization, and, according to Andy, it should be safe starting with ALA. Also, a liver detox profile showed that his liver is functioning very poorly. DMSA stresses the liver, while ALA is supposed to help it. So based on all of that, we decided to try just the ALA. Debbie

Guest guest
Hi Moria, Thanks for the reply. Since you are a very articulate adult, could you please share with me some information on chelation? I have always wondered just how chelation makes our children feel? Are there any particular sensations that you feel during the cycle, or when it is over? Is it uncomfortable or painful at all? My son just turned 5 today, and while he is verbal, he cannot explain to me just how he feels and I was wondering if you could fill me in? Thanks, Sheryl [ ] Re: Just added ALA, some questions for you... > I have just added ALA to my son's chelation protocol after many months of > using just DMSA.
