Guest guest
Is anyone using L-codes to bill for custom and pre-fab hand splints? We have reviewed the codes and the descriptions and find some of the descriptions very vague. I was hoping to get feedback from others on which codes are commonly being used in your clinics and for which splints. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. Guest guest
Hi , We use L-codes to bill both custom and pre-fab splints. The new code definitions are much better than the older codes. They have done away with multiple codes for one spint i.e. dynamic wrist extension splint. Let me know what kind of splints you are making or using and I can tell you the codes which would apply. Remember that the codes are separated by which body part they support: elbow, wrist hand finger, hand only, finger only etc... ( fingers are the same as thumb ) They are also separated by custom which includes fabrication time and prefabrication. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Hi Lori, Thank you for responding. I made a list of splints we commonly provide and fabricate and matched them with the L-codes that we thought were appropriate. Will you please review and let me know if I am on track or if use different codes. Thank you!
