Anything that is driven on the public roads has to have a license plate and to obtain a plate you do have to have a license. And as a mother, I'm worried that if you need to rely on cars around you to judge distances do you think it's a good idea to drive a motorized bike? For your own safety as well as others, please think about this.

Chantelle, I looked into this for , not so much with a moped but the four wheel motor bikes. The answer was yes, they need to be both registered, insured and you need a licence, even if they are speed limited. However, one alternative possibility are the motorised wheelchar scooters. In some places these come under a different criteria. I have not lost my mind - it's backed up on disk somewhere. -- Unknown Keep Looking For Rainbows!! _--_|\ / \ \ _.--._ / v , Mum to (9 years, T-18 Mosaic) http://members.optushome.com.au/karens
Guest guest
>>>one alternative possibility are the motorised wheelchair scooters. The motorised wheelchair scooter is a great idea, IN THE CITY, and I think the cost could be partially covered once you get your ODSP (pension), and it doesn't need a licence. BUT PLEASEeeeee don't be thinking about driving this ALONG SIDE THAT COUNTRY HYWAY that you are walking on and CROSSING!! Do you guys realize what this girl is doing to get to work??!! NEXT we'll hear Chantelle is driving a farm tractor .....you can take that along the country road. Geez girl. I know Dr. Kay Hoolbrook,(sp?) one of the leading experts in vision, uses all kinds of optic devices attached to her glasses and has visual field loss,....and managed somehow to get her licence and drive around! Maybe one day. Ann gloyn, Specialist Teacher Canada > ----- Original Message ----- > From: " Chantelle McLaren " > >> do I > > need a licence to drive a moped? Guest guest
Well im kinda surrounded by 4 highways. Hiway 5 to the south, Highway 6 to the east, Highway 8 to the west and if you go north for about 15 minuts you hit hiway 401 Pick your choice of wich one I should cross to get out of my issolated little world. Actualy Highway 6 at least has a traffic light but highway 5 is less busy. Chantelle
