Guest guest
For those of you that cast feet for offsite orthotic fabrication, are you having issues with reimbursement? How are you billing for the process, from casting to dispensing the orthotics? We have an increasing number of payer sources that do not cover foot orthotics unless for diabetic care. We include LE biomechanics assessments with a major part of our outpatient population and find purpose and good outcomes using orthotics for several problems. We do include orthotic training at time of issue but our payers are not covering " orthotic anything " related to the foot. Any ideas? What is working for you? Is it now just a cash option? Guest guest
All of our orthotics are done on a cash basis, with the exception of W/C (which does pay with prior approval). The evaluation can be billed to the insurance company in some cases.
