Guest guest
I am starting a blog and not ready to share yet :-) I am in Florida. Thanks for the pick-me-up, . Where do you gals live? I wish you were nearby so we could chat in person -- it gets lonely with so few people understanding our little autism universe.Glad to have " met " you guys though and am excited to continue on this journey together. BTW, do any of you have blogs? I started one to document Noam's journey but haven't really shared it with many people yet. I guess I'm waiting to see some recovery action going on before I share it because then I'm afraid I'll *jinx* the biomed or something.. As much as I believe in all this and have true hope, a little positive reinforcement, sun shining through the clouds wouldn't hurt either... :-)Leah Leah, we all struggle. it's not just you. you are definitely not alone here... I quit smoking when I was 27. I am 38. I can tell you, sometimes (before I was pregnant with my first) I would sit next to a smoker just to inhale the smoke. I don't know how to smoke just one, I only know how to smoke a pack. Addiction, cravings, etc. -- is a daily choice for me. I have chosen not to today, but it doesn't mean, someday I'm not going to give in. It's easy to " judge " people for the past infractions or weaknesses...but the reality is -- walk a mile in someone else's shoes. It's been 11 years, and I still want one, what does that tell you about the power of cigarettes. No judgments from over here. I, like Tammy, can match a sailor and probably teach him/her a few things! You're here aren't you?..and my Mom used to say " people can say lots of things, it's actions that define a person's character. " Then if I belly ached too much she would say " I see you talkin' but that's all I see. " --She's been gone for almost 13 years, and I can still hear her...it keeps me going. laura > > > > >> > > >> >> > > > > > >> > > >> >> > > > > > > >> > > >> >> > > > > > > >> > > >> >> > > Hi everyone, > > > > >> > > >> >> > > > > > > >> > > >> >> > > My soon to be 2 yr old son was diagnosed with ASD > > about 2 > > > > >> months ago. > > > > >> > > >> >> We > > > > >> > > >> >> > > put him on the GFCF diet right away. Guest guest
I'm in TX. We moved here for my husbands job, since I wasn't working outside the home. I am originally from NY, went to school in Boston, and lived in VA (near DC), FL, and now TX. Our autism universe is getting bigger, and I'm finding there are " branches " of it - like Crohns, IBS, Allergies, digestive problems, learning disabilities, etc. I find if someone is " interested " -- they seek me out. I stopped talking at friend dinners, etc. because the eyes would glaze over, and I would lose people. So, now I just inject small seeds of information into conversations. This whole process is overwhelming. When you really think about all you have learned, you find that not only are you capable of knowing, but capable of applying the information you have learned. It's exciting in that respect, especially when it works the way other parents have said it would. I remember on day 4 after removing wheat and milk when Jimmy stopped tantruming and banging his head on the walls. I thought...these people are geniuses! My husband gave me all the credit, but it wasn't me, I simply did what others said worked for them. I never got this advice from doctors or professionals. Never. It made me want to know more. We are here for ya! laura > > > > > > >> > > >> >> > > > > > > > >> > > >> >> > > > > > > > > >> > > >> >> > > > > > > > > >> > > >> >> > > Hi everyone, > > > > > > >> > > >> >> > > > > > > > > >> > > >> >> > > My soon to be 2 yr old son was diagnosed with ASD > > > > about 2 > > > > > > >> months ago. > > > > > > >> > > >> >> We > > > > > > >> > > >> >> > > put him on the GFCF diet right away. Guest guest
Amazing how it's all inter-connected. I can not wait to sit down with my cousin. Her son had so many problems as a child. From what I learned, he was most definitely a PANDAS kid and they had no name for it 15 years ago. I'm happy to report he's just fine now - by the grace of God. But this is going to blow her mind. I am originally from NY, went to school in Boston, and lived in VA (near DC), FL, and now TX. Our autism universe is getting bigger, and I'm finding there are "branches" of it - like Crohns, IBS, Allergies, digestive problems, learning disabilities, etc. I find if someone is "interested" -- they seek me out.
