Hi Emma,

Your son sounds alot like my son.The only nut that he does

tolerate is macadamia and he tolerates tahini butter. The only fruit

that he tolerates are pears and watered down pineapple juice. We

don't tolerate eggs either which only adds to the difficulty in this

diet.We were gfcf for 11 months prior to scd and we saw wonderful

results with it.We are still battling behaviors that had went away

while we were gfcf, but we have saw some progress with scd.It can be

done. There are many that are very limited in what they tolerate, but

you can find something.I know it would be the perfect diet if you

could eat all those healthy fruits and veggies, but for our

children,it's not possible for a while.Maybe, if we stay the course

for a while, then our children will be able to eat a wide variety of

foods. It's my goal.Hope this helps and welcome to scd.

DeAnn,mom to 3.11 asd,scd 14 weeks

Many find that a number of food sensitivities fade and disappear as

the gut heals on SCD. At the beginning you should still avoid these

items and over time you may wish to gradually and cautiously try

adding them in.

ph

Fruit juice concentrates are not part of SCD. Too many ways

that " illegals " could be added. Please see

Here is a link for the SCD UK group's website, hopefully this will

help you locate some items locally. http://www.scduk.co.uk/find.htm

Here is a link for the UK group if you have questions about local

issues (much less mail than this group)
