Guest guest
I recently read an article written by a Dr. that was " rail-roaded " from his practice for using disseciated thyroid replacement. People from all over Canada and other parts of the world came to see this Dr. http://thyroid.about.com/library/news/blderry2.htm Here's an article another article on adrenal glands: http://thyroid.about.com/od/drdavidderry/l/bl11.htm Shomon interviewed him and he was highly respected by his patients. I thought you might find this reading interesting.
Guest guest
I've also had problems tolerating the thryoid meds and on the suggestio of someone on another site I take a very small dose at bedtime. So far so good. (fingers crossed) , I'm slowly rising and will spread through out the day. > > All...I have mentioned that I have been consulting with several biochemists who are well known experts in the field of hormone therapy. When I mentioned to them that I have difficulty tolerating any thyroid hormone and suggest that its because my adrenals are in bad shape, they tell me to simply take less thyroid. They are familiar with the arguments made on STTM about needing to fix the adrenals first and respectfully disagree...saying that my adrenals are in bad shape in part because I was low thyroid to begin with. They believe cortef is highly toxic even in small doses and that those taking it are causing longterm harm. Instead they say if you can't tolerate thyroid in my case T3..simply reduce the level of thyroid until you can tolerate it and build up slowly...this will heal the adrenals. Any thoughts? >

This is frequently overlooked...eliminate all high glycemic carbs, grains and sugars...lean organic protein at every meal...I take Great Lakes Gelatin at every meal and I think it helps a lot. It is a protein powder made from bovine cartilage...it has lots of amino acids that are in short supply in other protein foods. It is highly recommended for healing the adrenals. According to a number of authorities the Weston Price/paleolithic diet causes the adrenals to snap back to health quickly...I also consume a lot of sea salt and vitamin C...good luck to you let us know how your daughter is doing! This just makes no sense to me. IMVHO this is wishful thinking. <<<<<< I have found that it helps me but you have to be strict...I suspect there are many cheaters on here. I limit my carbs to 75 grams per day....No grains...no sugar...no processed food....limit fruits...lean organic animal protein and lots of vegetables...if they are goitrogenic ...cook them well...lots of sea salt and no soy or flouride!! I realize this is hard to implement but if you are strict about it and stick with it, I guarantee you will see some results. Some people have healed Rheumatiod arthritis with this diet....see the book Neanderthin. Ray Peat recommends 100 grams for protein per day. You can find Great Lakes Gelatin online it will help you get your protein.
Guest guest
I never recommend Hydrocortisone wihtout testing first,. Please do NOT misquote me. Adaptogenic herbs yes but again this is very difficult to recommend wihtout testing first as some lower cortiosl and some attempt to stimulate more production. Diet support is a given which is why I seldom mention it. Usually by the time people reach these groups thye have tried diet as a means to improve their health. Maybe I should mentionit more, but as this is a group specific to thyorid NOT diet it often is not mentioned. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/

Guest guest
I have only one statement, If it works, why are you here? I am so sick of hearing all the " easy " fixes for our hormone issues and I have YET to see the proof. What I see are doctors and websites sellign things gettign rich off sick people. I also see " prophets " that have their own agendas and push their beliefs to the exclusion of all else. When the body's hormone system is broken, it takes MAJOR things to fix it. There is NO easy cure, there is no ONE answer for all. I have been on a low carb, low glycemic diet for the last 4 years, and NO I do not cheat. I resent being called a cheater. When you have had a near death brush and doctors give up on you, cheating is only on yourself so it is NOT done by an intelligent person. My inslin graph doesn;t lie either. Diet did VERY little to correct my glucose, btu certain supplements have improved it drastically. Probably as my diet wasn;t bad to begin wiht. While you assume we all eat poorly, why do we spend THOUSANDS of dollars on supplement to get well then cheat on diet? I think you underestimate the will power of the people on this group and their desire to heal. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/

Guest guest
i just increased her NT from 3 grains to 3 1/4 grain....she has not trouble tolerating the NT..i do think she may have an RT3 issue but am trying to raise her ferritin..she goes back to doctor in 2 months...figure at that time we can run the RT3 and hopefully her ferritin will be higher so we can make sure that is not the issue...but i went ahead and raised her NT this week ...so we can see if her temp can go up and stay up.... by the way....if she increases her NT a bit and gets a higher basal body temp for a week or so then it goes back down what does that mean...that happened to her when we raised it the last time...it went up to 97.6 for a week then down to 97.1 and has stayed down...so does that mean adrenals or RT3 issue or nothing without more information?? > > Dawn > > Has she tried to increase her armour? Guest guest
I would say that could indicate RT3 oin the rise.
