Hello everyone,

Has anyone worked with a bio-safe dentist? I am considering having my four

amalgam fillings replaced with porcelain. Would you tell me about your

experiences good or bad. Do they accept dental insurance like Met Life? Can

you recommend a good one in the DC metro area?

Also, has anyone used Denclude, the remineralizing toothpaste that bio-safe

dentists recommend? I'd like to take flouride out of my boys' brushing regimen,

but the last time that I did my youngest ended up with a horrendous case of

brown plaque.

Thanks,

I'm no longer in the DC Metro area, but I was checking into this last week. I have 8 amalgams :-( Anyway, the dentists I called (down in Florida) did not take insurance but would supply a coded bill for reimbursement. They do not have a separate code for " removal " so you basically will only have to pay the price of 4 new fillings. My insurance covers amalgams so I would have to pay the difference between the amalgams and the porcelain. I have MetLife as well, but I guess everyone's policy will be different.

Good luck! They may only do one quadrant at a time.

I miss the DC area. I used to work on NY Ave. (Lived in Northern VA)

I never found a holistic dentist there...which is why I waited until I came to

Houston. We have one here not too far from where I live now.

If you find one, post it, as I would love to move back!!

:)

I searched for a bio-safe dentist here in the Madison, WI area and found, at the time, only one in WI. Eventually, I just went to my dentist and asked that she replace the amalgams using a rubber dam. I had one amalgam replaced at each 6 month appt and in 2 years, they were gone. I seems that the cavities tend to occur between two teeth so when you have one done, it is actually between two teeth so it does not actually take that long to remove them all with this method. Plus, it was affordable for me. A friend of mine had dental insurance and it was covered (just claimed as a filling replacement). I noticed no residual effects from the removal.I slowly started feeling better and today am so glad I did it. Five years later, I am healthier than I
