Guest guest
We use to eat at TAco Bell very occasionally before my son went allergic to corn. As of a year ago, their hard taco shells were not GFCF, but their tostada rounds were. Their meat is not GFCF. The only thing we were able to get there was a tostada with beans, lettuce and tomato only. No sauce. Beware! ONe time we were served a tostada made on a flour tortilla cuz they deep fried the wrong ones that day. It wasn't until 3 bites into it that I noticed my son was eating something white. He couldn't walk or talk straight for over a month after that, and his bowel issues came back. When we ate there we had to be very specific about asking people to prepare the meal far away from cheese and to change their gloves. We eat all the time now at In and Out. Double protein style lettuce and tomato only with fries. You might want to bring your own ketchup as theirs has HFcorn syrup. We go to Jamba Juice for treats and get smoothies with fresh orange, frozen mango, and blueberry.. Yum While you are waiting to go on diet, you might try digestive enzymes. www.houstone-enzymes.com has a free informational DVD. My son kept going allergic to foods until we went on enzymes. They gave him new life. My son is now GFCFSF, corn free, egg free, quinoa free, yeast free, chicken free. I am procrastinating / waiting till summer when I have more control :-) > Anyway, we are NOT fast food junkies but the kids do like to go about once a week to the horrible golden arches :-( Most of the time it is just for the stupid toy. LOL. > > But I am looking for some GFCF ways to handle this. Since my son is GF right now, I did order him a cheeseburger no bun the other day. I know the french fries are not GF but my brother is celiac and doesn't have a problem with them, so I have allowed those as well. :-\ Of course with going out to eat there is always a question of cross-contamination , I know! > > My brother the celiac also eats at taco bell, their regular hard tacos, so I have done these for my son too. I know if he was GFCF, we'd have to hold the cheese. Boring taco! LOLÂ > > Any suggestions for the times we want to get fast food? If nothing else, I will just start buying the toy only (I know BK will sell us the toy for 99 cents!) Thanks in advance. Also would like a " cool treat " place, since Baskin Robbins and Cold Stone would be out of the question. > > > -- > Toni > > ------ > Mind like a steel trap... > Rusty and illegal in 37 states. >
