How scary Akiba. I don't have any answers but you will remain in my prayers.

Something happened last night that scared the poot outta me. I woke up with a wicked tickle in my throat, coughing and coughing, so hard I could not get my breath. Literally could not aspirate. I had to strain with everything I had to get air into me. I finally was able to sit up, it got a little better, but took several minutes before I could draw breath, and longer before I could breathe anywhere near normally. My chest hurt for hours with the strain. Anyone ever have anything like this happen? It scared me, I could have passed out and maybe worse. Thoughts? Ideas?

Bronchitis? I have been getting a post-nasal drip that can really

choke me up! It trickles down my throat, and gets me gasping

sometimes also. A good decongestant might help, Akiba....That's

just my humble thoughts...take care hun. blessings, kate

I don't know why I can't respond directly to Akiba so will piggy back on this one. Very scary for you Akiba! You probably should have called the hospital tho or an ambulance, I can not see that this would be normal whatsoever, so pls go get it checked out

I have a Dr's appt on Wed, hubby made me promise to talk about it there. Nearest hospital is in Michigan (I live in Wisconsin), doubt an ambulance would make it in time Hugs Akiba -- Re: Very scary night I don't know why I can't respond directly to Akiba so will piggy back on this one. I don't know if this has been asked yet - but sounds like it could have been an asthma attack. Could you hear yourself wheezing? I am so glad you recovered without anything more serious. If it happens again I would get myself to the hospital and not wait for the next dr appt. Lots of hugs and love, KamiAkiba wrote: Something happened last night that scared the poot outta me. No, no wheezing. It was like something tickling my throat, but worse...maybe I swallowed some dander from the cats or a feather or something...I WILL keep an eye on it, scared me and I'm fearless!! Dear Akiba:

How far is it for emergency services to reach you? If this happens

again call the EMTs or ambulance or whatever you have immediately.

Well I should say have Rob call. I mentioned to you earlier

that a close friend of mine with MS has a problem where she chokes on

her own spit (her description) and can't get air in or out. She said

these episodes will last several minutes before she can finally get

breath again. Her neuro (and my neuro) told her she needs botox

injections into her voice box but so far her insurance hasn't approved

it. Another doctor before she saw my neuro told her if she passed out

she would then be able to breath. She is naturally very panicked over

this and she said it scares her horribly each time it happens.

I hope you don't mind but I forwarded your email to Diane and asked her

if your description sounds like what happens to her. Is it okay?

Not a problem. Any and all advice on this one is welcome> It was pretty scary, was afraid to go back to sleep for a long time. How far for emergency services? Not a problem. Any and all advice on this one is welcome> It was pretty scary, was afraid to go back to sleep for a long time. How far for emergency services? No clue, guess I'd better look into that, eh? Hugs Akiba -- Re: Very scary night Dear Akiba:How far is it for emergency services to reach you? If this happens again call the EMTs or ambulance or whatever you have immediately. Well I should say have Rob call. I mentioned to you earlier that a close friend of mine with MS has a problem where she chokes on her own spit (her description) and can't get air in or out. She said these episodes will last several minutes before she can finally get breath again. Her neuro (and my neuro) told her she needs botox injections into her voice box but so far her insurance hasn't approved it. Another doctor before she saw my neuro told her if she passed out she would then be able to breath. She is naturally very panicked over this and she said it scares her horribly each time it happens. I hope you don't mind but I forwarded your email to Diane and asked her if your description sounds like what happens to her. Is it okay? loveSharon This email is a natural hand made product. Very scary night Something happened last night that scared the poot outta me. Thoughts? Ideas? Yes, I have had this. I was so worried that I was coming down with something I went to my doc, he said that I prob had the start of the flu and he said to use my inhealer (sp) when this happens. In just a few days I did have the flu and felt like a mac truck had ran over me for about 36 hours. Do you have an inhealer? If not try this, when the cough first starts go pur your head in the freezer and breath deep through your mouth. Do it a few times and cough with your head in the freezer, cover your mouth of course. LOL. My DH has asthma and when he can't get to his inhealer he will put ice in a cup and breath into the cup a few times...does that make since??? It helps him.

Always, Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply, Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

I don't have an inhaler, no, but I *do* have a freezer (not referring to outside, either) Thanks for the suggestions Akiba -- Re: Very scary night Yes, I have had this.
