Guest guest
Could someone explain why CPT code 17250 (chemical cauterization) which is assigned to Column 1 in the NCCI edits and therefore considered the comprehensive code edits with CPT code 97605 (wound vac) which is assigned to column 2 and is considered the component code of 17250 ? I understand clinically you may not want to perform both on the same wound, but as we all know, NCCI edits usually do not have anything to do with clinical practice but instead with billing. I would appreciate if anyone that can shed some light on this. R.
