My doctor visit today.

Well....I always knew that 95% of doctors were quacks, I don't kno

wwhy I am still so suprised when it happens all over again. I guess

some small hope lives in me that there is a doctor out there that

cares about people.

I went in today for my follow up, and to talk with the doc about all

of my symptoms. Including my headaches, emotional outbursts, feet

aches, everything else I am too upset to remember right now. He told

me I was hypochondriac and depressed. That I needed to be on anti-

depressants.

He says only the equivalent of a witch doctor would prescribe

Armour....because it's made from COW thyroid and too unstable. He

also thinks the entire internet is wrong, apparantly, since it isn't

written by MD's it can't becorrect. Anytime I tried to explain to him

something I had read about such as the need to test other things

besides TSH, he says there's no need. And he flat out refused to give

me a referral to an endocrinologist.

He forced a couple of tester packets of Lexapro on me, and get

this.....and I don't know why this is getting under my skin SOOOOO

badly but it is. HE REMOVED THE PATIENT INFORMATION LEAFLETS from the

med packets. Because I am too nutso, to be believed. And if I read

about the side effects, well, heck I just may go ahead and decide I

have some of them. And goodness knows it would be UNHEARD of to have

an adverse reaction to something HE prescribed since he is sooooooooo

knowledgable and all that crap. (heavy sarcasm)

I don't know what to do now. I am on HMO and can switch doctors once

a month. Which I will obviously be doing ASAP. But there's no

guarantee I wont end up with someone as bad if not worse. It could

take MONTHS before I end up with someone who doesn't have crap for

brains.

Any advice? Other than to tell Dr Wonderful to shove his Lexapro

where the sun dont shine that is?

Ooooh I havent been this angry in a loooong time.
