Guest guest
, I have PM and I specifically asked my rheumy about whether anyone recovers(the disease burns out) since I had read about it on this board or the MAA board. My guy who is basically very optimistic but realistic, if you know what I mean, said no way. He said the longest remission he has ever seen is 7 years but that to date the research does not indicate that it ever " goes away " . I asked him how he could explain some folks recovering and he said not having reviewed their files he was just going to answer hypothetically. They are either in a great remission, were incorrectly diagnosed initially or just happen to have normal CPK readings but still have PM. (He also told me once before that many folks are incorrectly dianoseod WITH PM - especially by docs who don't see lots of folks with these conditions) I didn't ask about the other " M " s. I am sure not an expert and I would love to recover but he tells me to go for remission! Richskeen
