Guest guest
Hi Pearl, I think they're legal -- they're the ones that say " canned in its own juice " on the outside, right? If so, they're legal, and many kids tolerate those better than the fresh pineapple. However, I must caution you that pineapple if very fibrous, and remember, we want everything EASY to digest, like pearsauce and applesauce and VERY ripe bananas at the beginning. Guest guest
Hi Pearl, Again, the problem with SCD is that nobody can give you timelines. You have to gauge your own child's response to food. You do it by watching stools and behaviour. When your kids have had trophies for a couple of weeks, then you would consider adding new foods, slowly, one at a time to see what the food does to their bodies. If you see no change in stool or behaviour, then you go on the premise that they can " tolerate " that food. I know it's hard to be patient. You want them to eat more variety. But I can tell you that the parents who have seen the best gut healing are the ones that go slowly. I do not include myself among them. is doing very well, but I made mistakes early on -- using the wrong kind of juice, giving raw apples too soon (that made her grind her teeth, but it took me 2 months to figure out what was causing it). If I had gone slowly and monitored each food, I would have known much sooner what was causing the problem. Still, for us, behaviour and language continued to improve, improve, improve, even though we rarely have trophies, even now. Sue (from Pickering) Mom to , 4.5, formerly? Guest guest
Is anyone concerned about the aluminum in these cans? I had a glass of Dole pineapple juice this AM and it tasted so metallick-y to me. I read somewhere that olives can counteract aluminum ....I only mention this b/c that says to me we should be worried about aluminum. Ours is def. a mercury issue so I worry about stuff like this. Anyone???
