Guest guest
Hello, My Daughter has been on the GFCFSF diet for about three months now and is living on waffles, sausage, noodles, veggie chips, potato chips, and hotdogs. She will not eat any meat other then ham which has alot of sugar so I will not give it to her and her veggies have to be juiced because she will not eat them either unless she can have can green beans or corn. For other parents who are doing the diet do you have any other options that are kid friendly? I tried the ck nuggets she would not eat them or a gluten free pizza I feel like I am always giving her the same thing. Help. PS she also will not eat eggs, or rice
Guest guest
I cook constantly. But, I have learned how to make things quicker. I hide a lot of fruits and veggies (pureed or in a food processor) in spaghetti sauce, pizza crust and sauce, pretty much anything. I look at cook books and figure out how to make it work. My food processor and my stand mixer are my best friends. Daiya cheese works for us, as does raw goats cheese (although that may not work for others). Getting some form of cheese helped us make lots more " normal " dishes Good luck! Guest guest
You can purée veggies and hide them in her food. That's how I get veggies in my kiddo! I add cauliflower or butternut squash to meat patties or spaghetti sauce. Or put them in muffins or the waffles. I used to feel overwhelmed too, but it does get easier!Rhonda Masengale Hello, My Daughter has been on the GFCFSF diet for about three months now and is living on waffles, sausage, noodles, veggie chips, potato chips, and hotdogs. Guest guest
What did your daughter used to eat before going GFCGSF? Try to substitute with those foods first. Betty Crocker even has a gluten free Bisquick which is produced in a gluten free facility. The biscuits are great. The diet is very hard at first but yes it does get easier. I contacted a speech therapist and we did food therapy with my son when he was about 4. He limited himself to only a few textures. It was the best money I ever spent and insurance covered a portion. Now my son will at least try new foods. He loves going to the grocery store and shopping and is by most standards a pretty adventureous eater. Keep at it. It takes at least 3 months for all the gluten to leave the body!margie in vaYou can purée veggies and hide them in her food. That's how I get veggies in my kiddo! Guest guest
I strongly suggest you to join the gfcf kids yahoo group, it is so helpful!. There is one thing that you have to remember, for a kid to get to like a food you have to offer it (try to make them eat it) at least 12 times, and if after that they still don't ike that food then you can say they don't like it.A nutritionist told me this, and I follow her advise and now my son eats a lot more foods.I would avoid the corn as much as posible so she won't get an allergy to them, I'm sorry about your situation, it is so hard, in my situation I had to cook many times per day until he liked something and ate it, he still hates the juicing, so I cook a lot of soups with veggies in it, I give him brazilnuts as a snack, I never thought he would like the celery sticks with cashew butter until i offered them once and he loves them, also try the white rice pasta that will give you more dishes, like spaguetti with tomatoe sauce and ground beef you can also chop veggies to it.try some GF cereal , almod or hemp milk with choped banana in the morning or at nigth time.check out the gfcf list, i'm sure it'll help you. cheer up!SashaTo: mb12 valtrex Sent: Tue, October 26, 2010 12:54:22 AMSubject: Re: GFCFSF Diet I cook constantly. Guest guest
Sprouts and Whole Foods has a variety of gluten free things. Mine loves bratwurst, vienna sausages, ground italian pork, and can't get enough of hummus. I buy GF blueberry muffins from sprouts, " Glutino " brand fruit bars or Puffins brand cereal for breakfast. Just found " Fruit Source " fruit bars that are great when we are out. He also eats raisins by the boxful.
Guest guest
I guess I should also add that mine has a tactile disorder so won't eat a lot of solid food. He still eats baby food veggies and fruit, so I can't help you there.
