Guest guest
Hi Lelia... what do you mean " You Don't Do Wal-Mart " .... OH MY GOSH!!! I live at Wallymart. Well, maybe not LIVE there but I don't go anywhere else to shop for stuff. Of course that's because I'm CHEAP, CHEAP and Cheap!!! So... what goodies did you get???? Guest guest
Vicki, I love Walmart too!! I call it the 100 dollar store. It doesn't matter what I go in for, I end up spending at least a 100. For goodies, Walmart has one of the biggest selection of sugar free candies around. I only know that because I buy them for my 2 good friends that are diebetic. I only eat candy WITH sugar!!! hehe Those chocolate covered almonds sound so yummy though. Wish you had found them Vicki!! I am heading over there tonight against my will. Kylie needs pictures developed for her science project or I wouldn't be going!!! Take care, Zanna
Guest guest
Zanna You too??? I swear everytime I go to WalMart never to go again.....then I try to justify the amount I spend because it incudes groceries. No matter what......100 is the magic number .....lol Teddi mailto:teddifromok@...
Guest guest
I guess I'm glad we don't have a Super WalMart nearby...I'd be rivalling Lelia's list on a weekly basis...!! Suppose to clear off tomorrow and be in the 50's.....I'm still coughing and blowing but not as bad.....have that " rode hard and put away wet " feeling but with the DM guess it goes with the " sickie " territory. OK I'm ready for spring...no more winter and please at least a week of nice weather before the temp hits 100 for summer. Yeah, right, in Oklahoma ???? you gotta be kidden. Guest guest
Lynn....... We did get the pictures developed for Kylie's project, only they were the only ones on the whole role that didn't turn out. I had her take them her self and she took them about 3 inches from the source. They were all blurry. But, of course, I only buy what I 'need' when I am there. Funny how I tell my children all the time the differnce between 'want' and 'need' but find myself 'needing' soooooooo much!!! I did find a really pretty bathrobe (black with red and gold flowers and slightly sheer) for only $7.00 and matching jammies for only 7.00 also. Isn't that justified????? Then there were the doritos, the chocolate covered cashews, the new Krall CD (she is very good), and many other items that I am just not remembering at the moment-brain fart. My life lately seems to be one continuous brain fart!! Zanna
Guest guest
She finished her project on time and actually faster than she normally does stuff. To her EVERYTHING is an art project!!! Every assignment she does has to be 'pretty' as well as done!! Even when she writes, she makes sure all the letters are touching the line on the paper and that they are all the same size. I have tried since first grade to explain to her that neat and compulsive are two different things but she must be doing something right because she carries straight A's. She makes me very proud. I hope she gets a good grade. It was on sugar and salt crystals which is actually kind of fun to watch them grow. She just drew pictures of them and took them in with her, and I told her to take the pictures with her to show the teacher that she attempted to take them. I think she took them in but I am not sure! zanna

Guest guest
Zanna, Shelby just finished her 4th grade science project also. Believe it or not, it was on the performance of paper towels. She had to run 4 different performance tests and take pictures of them, graph the results, etc...etc... For anyone interested, Viva performs the best for the $. I am sure everyone will rest easier knowing that information! LOL! Our daughters and their attitudes toward " perfection " , sound very much alike. Guest guest
Cari... Thanks for the information on paper towels, and tell Shelby that she has probably changed my mother's life! Mom LOVES paper towels! Always looking for the VERY BEST, so she will be so happy to get this info! Guest guest
Cari, Really?? Did you test ?? I don't even watch much anymore. I am so tired at the grocery store, I just buy what I need and don't pay much attention!! Kylie had a science project in 5th grade which was on the percent of water in an apple. Can you beleive it was like 90% water?? We were shocked. Anyways she won a grand first prize at the school level (higher than 1st) and then at district she won an award from the water district but didn't place for the actual project. This one was just a small thing for 6th grade science but you would have thought it was for the Queen of England!!! I guess it's good that they care about the project enough to do it well. I am glad for that!! Zanna
Guest guest
Zanna, Hi-Dri, , Bounty and Viva. Viva won, Bounty was a close 2nd, and Hi-Dri almost performed the same but was 3rd and Hi-Dri was 4th. All the information was compiled and handed in last Friday. Glad it's over!!! Congratulations on Kylie's award winning science experiment! That's great! Shelby's will be judged this Tues and then the parents can go up in the evening. I don't care if I ever see another paper towel again!!!! Guest guest
Thanks for the info on the paper towels. May be worth looking into the next time we go shopping. Tell Shelby good luck. If she is as much like Kylie as you say, she won't need any luck!!! I am sure the project is perfect! Zanna
Guest guest
Zanna, Thanks. I was really proud of the work Shelby did. The Fair was last night and she didn't win any ribbons. We don't know what her final grade is yet. We saw some really cool projects. I must say though, that they all looked pretty much the same quality to me. They had such strict guidelines to follow. I learned that if you freeze microwave popcorn and then take it from the freezer directly to the mircrowave, a lot more kernels pop and it tastes much better. That is one experiment we will be trying at home. cari >From: wischic68@... >Reply-To: OurMyositis >To: OurMyositis >Subject: Re: Lelia ~ Saved from Disaster >Date: Mon, 18 Feb 2002 20:24:51 EST > >Thanks for the info on the paper towels. Guest guest
Cari, Too bad she didn't win any ribbons. THey should still give them one for participation at least. Isn't it funny how you can look at all the other projects and wonder how they picked one over the other??? If you are like me, only my child should win!!! hehe. I will definitely try the microwave popcorn trick. We use a lot of that here. Zanna
Guest guest
Shelby received a 100 on her science project. It was a perfect score so she was very pleased. Now that we know what is expected we won't sweat it so much next year. Shelby will have her 5th grade one to do at the same time that Karsyn will be doing her 4th grade project. Ugh! At least we won't be throwing a move in there!
