Guest guest
Hi, My son is 3 1/2 years old, and non-verbal. He is currently on mB12 shots, vitamin D3, multivitamins and minerals, digestive enzymes, probiotics, and is gfcfsf. The mB12 and the diet were both started only about a month ago. He is lately extremely oral - chewing his shirt like crazy, and is now biting people when frustrated. I received a call from his teacher this afternoon, and she told me that he bit her today and it broke skin! I was mortified. He's usually very sweet and gentle. Lately, though, we've been seeing a lot of frustration. I guess, in a way, that's a good sign - he's at least reacting to his environment. He used to be extremely passive. I'm wondering if the biting is due to the shots. I've heard that mouthing and playing with lips happens with the shots. I'm also looking for suggestions to help stop the biting. When he is yelled at and put in " time out " (crash mat, weighted blanket, away from others) for biting, he gets REALLY upset and cries. It doesn't stop the behavior from happening again, though. A chewy tube, maybe? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
