Guest guest
Hi Mel, What else did you have beside the milk for breakfast? Another question is did you start any new medications that maybe you take every other day? Did you have a hypoglycemic reaction in the night and were having symogigi rebound? Do you have infections right now that you are either aware or unaware of? We need a little more info to help figure this out so don't throw out the diet Dr. Pepper yet. Guest guest
Hi Melvin, I use a pump as well and love it. I did not realize how much impact high-fat foods had on my blood sugar until I began using a combination bolus on my pump. Now, when I forget to use a combination bolus for high-fat foods there is a very noticeable rise in my blood sugar hours later, and that combination bolus can make the difference between having a blood sugar of 6.5 for hours later or fighting hours of blood sugars in the teens. Do you have any vision, or do you use the pump completely non-visually? Most blind people I know do not use advanced features such as the bolus calculators or combination boluses or temporary basal rates. I use all of these because I have memorized all of the pump's functionality. I also have enough vision to see the screen with a strong magnifier, but usually don't use one as it's faster to navigate by counting button presses. Guest guest
Hi Ruth, I had nothing else except the milk for breakfast that morning. As for medications there has been no change in them. There was no low BG during the night that I am aware of. Just had a full physical for camp including blood work and nothing showed there as far as infections. I didn't do anything unusual the day before or that morning either, just some light house work. odd question Hi Mel, What else did you have beside the milk for breakfast? Guest guest
What camp are you gong to Melvin? I am going to camp on June 19. wonder if it is the same one you are going to? It's not for diabetics, so the food choices will be interesting! odd question Hi Mel, What else did you have beside the milk for breakfast? Guest guest
I am going to do a cub scout day camp for the week after Father's Day. This year I am working in the kitchen so I get to help plan the menus for the week. Have no idea what we are going to have yet, so I will see how much of an influence I can have. odd question Hi Mel, What else did you have beside the milk for breakfast?
