Guest guest
Jody - I'd like to get further information on Taurine. We use melatonin but it is not working all time. My son has a significant sleep disturbance due to his genetic disorder. Do you have any links that would have good info? Perhaps this might help him sleep better. Did a google search but didn't find info on sleep with taurine. Thanks Mom to ph (2.2-SMS) 90% SCD (intro and 100% in 3 weeks) GFCFSF 10 months -- Re: !!! HELP!!! vallergan for sleeping Elaine, Have you ever tried using melatonin with him? Taurine in the morning and at bedtime, along with melatonin at bedtime turned my two terrible sleepers into really beautiful sleepers (9-10 hours a night of sleep). Guest guest
Thanks Jody! It's worth giving it a try. Especially if we might get some more sleep :-) Mom to ph (2.2) 90%SCD - intro and 100% in 3 weeks. GFCFSF 10 months -- Re: OT - Taurine for sleep - more info? Taurine is an amino acid. It's not considered " essential " because the body is supposed to produce it in sufficient quantities. I don't recall reading anything that said that Taurine could help with sleep. It was just a suprising added benefit. To be honest, I only added Taurine because my DAN! doctor said to. I did. I was THRILLED when both of my boys began sleeping through the night. If I didn't give it they BOTH woke up. I gave it and they BOTH slept. So, there was an obvious correlation for my boys. You could order a trial size from Kirkman Labs and see if it makes any difference. If not, you are only out $3 and the shipping.
