Guest guest
Hi Kathy - We homeschool in Florida so I don't know about NC but you might try looking at the Homeschool Legal Defense site www.hslda.org. They have state by state listings for requirements. Also see if you can locate a local homeschool support group in your area. The parents there could probably answer your questions. I am also on 2 yahoo groups for homeschooling special needs kids. If you want more info feel free to email me off list. jcjmjhorn@... Good Luck Mom to ph (2.2 - Magenis Syndrome - 90% SCD legal) Will be going 100% in 3 weeks. GFCFSF - 10 months

Guest guest
Kathy, I'm so sorry you had a bad incident today, I hope everything is okay. I don't know the answers to your questions but there are many homeschoolers around us. I will see what I can round up. Take care! in NC, USA mom to Luke, 5, Asperger's/low-salicylate; , 3;,22 mos; SCD going since 1/26/04 homeschooling-OT > Does anyone know if you homeschool your child in North Carolina do you need to comply with the homeschooling requirements and get all the paperwork done if you only plan to teach your disabled child? We had a incident today and I can never go back to this public school system. Also what if you plan to use a home tutor or instructor and not send your child to public school. Any required paperwork for that? > Thanks in advance for the advice and help. > Kathy > Abby-9. ASD, UC, and SCD for 11 weeks > >

Guest guest
I homeschool my son in NC. You do need to comply with the state law. Go to www.doa.state.nc.us/dnpe/ It will answer all you questions and you can download the forms you need to fill out to do the homeschooling. It takes about 30 days to get approved, before you can actually claim to homeschool. You can e-mail me direct with any other questions you might have. natalietuman@... Good luck! mom to , 8 yr old, Asperger's, SCD 2 days

Guest guest
Thank you. She has 3 weeks to go. In the meantime I am doing the form, and will withdraw her this summer.
