It's so much more fun when we merely criticize others ideas, downplay and degrade any options they put forth, because we don't have the fortitude to make things happen. Yeah, that's how we pave the road to progress. Mike " I appreciate your honesty "

Use their point of view to expand yours, and vice versa. Find out what you can agree on, and where you differ. Then again, in Vidor and surrounding areas, you can just drag those you don't like behind trucks, eh? Your emergency vehicles have tow hooks and chains, right? Mike :/ Maybe your tongue was in check here (as maybe the other Mr. Young's was when he suggested discussing the matter around a bowl of chili) but still that last comment was uncalled for. Professionalism is discussed often on this list. Isn't part of professionalism a simple matter of 'rising above' and taking the 'higher road?' If someone (and I'm not directly or indirectly implicating anyone here) says something with an attitude or airs an opinion that is unpopular or even makes personal attacks, other people often respond in kind and in doing so bring themselves down to other's level. We see enough of this in the 'real' world. Can't we refrain from it on this list? As for EMStock isn't that supposed to be an event where ego and credentials and attitudes are checked at the door? Isn't everyone supposed to be on equal footing? How about giving the people (or the services or the professions, etc.) you don't like the benefit of the doubt? Maybe something will happen or something will be said to change your opinion. And maybe not. But you will have done the right thing and shown 'professionalism.' I don't mean to imply that I'm always perfect and always the professional I need to be. I'm not. I'm human and make mistakes. Nonetheless, I firmly believe that this is an area where I and everyone else has room for improvement. Take care and be safe!
