Guest guest
The doc is listing past medical history. Fibromyalgia, right s/l " peecoma " aneurysm status post coiling and morbid obesity. He refers earlier to a subarachnoid aneurysm and is now saying peecoma (precoma?). Any ideas? Thanks. Bev Also, is it status post coiling or status post uncoiling? He is very hard to understand. Uncoiling seems to make more sense.
Guest guest
Bev, Coiling would be correct, they actually place very small coils into the aneurysm itself, but it's been so long since I have done one of these that I can't remember exactly what happens when they do it, but I believe the coils either somehow reinforce the aneurysm wall itself or help to cut down on the blood flow into this area thus making the aneurysm less likely to rupture. The word you are looking for may be PCA (posterior communicating artery) aneurysm, I have heard that quite frequently. Margaret >>> 08/31/01 09:54AM >>> The doc is listing past medical history.
