Guest guest
Azeema,I would suggest cutting the OoO in half to see if that makes a difference. 1/4 tsp CLO twice daily doesn't seem like much.I assume you would not want to give activated charcoal on any regular basis.I'm more inclined to wonder if the milk isn't the problem or at least part of it. sallyTo: mb12 valtrex Sent: Wed, October 20, 2010 5:20:05 PMSubject: Expected Side Effects of OLE and OoO Hello All- Wanted to share some side effects with the listmates of this board to see if this is something that others have experienced and to what degree. My son has been on OLE and OOO for two and a half weeks now, he has been experiencing a runny nose as of two weeks into the treatment and now has diarrhea at least 4 times a day for the past two days-very brown, large, liquid stools. At the same time we started the treatment we moved from soy milk to coconut milk daily (2.5 weeks ago). We were concerned that soy may be a culprit. We know that coconut milk can have laxative like properties but didnt see anything immediately with this milk transition. I am very concerned not only abou tthe symptoms but the how long this will last and what caused this...milk? treatment? will it get worse? is this expected? He cannot sleep and is fussy and irritable ALL day for the past two days. Is this regression that we should expect or an intolerance to the treatment or diet we are on? We went to a gastroenterologist and the stool test last week (before symptoms) indicated no parasitic or bacterial infection. We are also on a the following regiment twice per day daily: gfcf diet 1/4 tspn CLO, 2 tspn calcium+magnesium, 2 capsules energetix 4 drops of OOO 20 drops OLE epsom salt baths AFP Peptizyde per meal (not consistently taking yet) Looking to incorporate TMG, activated Charcoal, zinc, as well, but not not making too many changes at once. Also, reading about additional probiotics so that we can try another kind. any other thoughts, suggestions are welcomed. Thank you for your input. Appreciate any thoughts or experiences folks can share. Regards,Azeema
Guest guest
Remove the coconut milk and see if it gets better in the next few days. You're going to have to systematically start removing things to see what's causing it. Start with the obvious possible offenders first - the coconut milk. Cal/mag would be my next thing to get rid off. *or* you could drop both now, see if it gets better and then add them back one at a time. If it's not one of those, then you'll have to continue dropping things. I would next drop OLE if that doesn't work. If it's the OLE, you can try adding it back in and going low and slow, 1 or 2 drops and work your way up.*or* you could drop everything, wait for everything to get back to normal and start again, one at a time, giving at least 3 days to a week between adding something new. This is why you need to only start things one at a time. It gets easier but you'll need to slow down. Guest guest
In our house we would avoid both soy and coconut until this gastro problem is resolved and drink water, or water with some lemon juice to help the body's pH. I'd encourage you to read up on soy as the protein is similer enough to the casein protein in milk that most people on GFCF avoid it completely, soy is a big problem for us. Coconut we love, in small doses. If it possible switch from coconut milk to coconut water, known to have high antifungal properties; try coconut water in small doses and to keep the amount he drinks very low due to the sugars which may cause yeast to flare particularly when beginning to antibacterials it is not to his advantage. Adding OLE and OOO alternate the two, we don't often give them together and we go very slowly even though we've been on and off for years. Even beginning at 1 drop and increasing 1 drop per day can seem painfully slow but I prefer that to the disabling effects of " brain fog " I experience if going to full dose too quickly and that's what I do for my kids. The kids can't really explain what's going on. I'd be very concerned about yeast and since you don't mention yeast protocol such as probiotics or antifungals I'd ask that you consider backing off on the antifungals and getting the yeast protocol in place. Time of day is important. Rotating brands of supplements is important. We do antifungals at night, probiotics in the morning. They need to be away from each other. Good luck > > Hello All- > > Wanted to share some side effects with the listmates of this board to see if this is something that others have experienced and to what degree. > > My son has been on OLE and OOO for two and a half weeks now, he has been experiencing a runny nose as of two weeks into the treatment and now has diarrhea at least 4 times a day for the past two days-very brown, large, liquid stools. Guest guest
Azeema, O of O and ole are very phenolic and o of o can be very irritating and painful in the stomach. Do you use no - fenol? I would try cutting back on both and you can try putting o of o transdermally on his feet instead of orally...he may be in pain and irritable from this and the henolic effect. Guest guest
If it were the OoO or the OLE, I would have expected the side effects to occur when you started them. We use them both at higher doses than you do (for both a 2 and 5 year old) and when they have die off, it happens right away, not two weeks later. Could he just be coming down with something? The runny nose and loose stools sound like he could be fighting a virus, the OLE will actually help with that. > > Hello All- > > Wanted to share some side effects with the listmates of this board to see if this is something that others have experienced and to what degree. > > My son has been on OLE and OOO for two and a half weeks now, he has been experiencing a runny nose as of two weeks into the treatment and now has diarrhea at least 4 times a day for the past two days-very brown, large, liquid stools. Guest guest
Guys, Does anyone know whether the OOO can damage affect the liver in a long term use? Thanks! To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Sun, October 24, 2010 3:54:16 AMSubject: Re: Expected Side Effects of OLE and OoO Hi and - Thank you very much for your responses!- Kindly, would you share some additional thoughts? What dosages were your kids on and what were their weights? Did this treatment help them and what kind of symptoms did you see? - what do you consider yeast flares? what behaviors or symptoms? The following day after my post we moved him to almond milk and the diarrhea decreased from 6 times per day to about 2 days. The consistency now after removing the coconut is a couple of bowel movements per day and is loose as you describe. We try to limit milk to 8oz per day, because I fear that a high intake may also cause some other reaction. First it was cow's milk -> rice -> coconut -> now almond. During the time we had him on the OLE and OoO we also have him on 4 capsules of Flora Synergy Enertgetix probiotics per day - 1 capsule has Lactobacillus sporogenes 90million CFU; Fructoologosaccharides (chicory root) - 471mgTwice per day we combine the OOO and OLE with our CLO and immediately after follow with 4 oz of almond milk (containing 2 capsule of the flora synergy probiotics). Is there a problem with combining the probiotics with the milk and also giving probiotics directly after the dosage of OLE and OOO?Also, even though he doesn't have terrible diarrhea anymore, he still has loose stools, he is also very fussy and holds his tummy, I know we are missing something...trying to figure it out....can you both share your supplement protocol with me?Thank you! > > >> > > Hello All-> > > > > > Wanted to share some side effects with the listmates of this board to see if this is something that others have experienced and to what degree.> > > > > > My son has been on OLE and OOO for two and a half weeks now, he has been experiencing a runny nose as of two weeks into the treatment and now has diarrhea at least 4 times a day for the past two days-very brown, large, liquid stools.
