Guest guest
I never really liked Tuna too much so this is gross but doesn't bother me that bad. I was actually always worried about mercury in fish, never knew anything about histamines.
Guest guest
Are you saing that you are on day two of induction? If you are, then you need to look at the Turtle menues and get a better idea of how your day should look. During induction, you should really try and stay away from the nuts and other snacky stuff. Try having some bacon and eggs for breakfast or an omelet. I don't know what you call a big salad, but maybe it should be a smaller salad with a full fat dressing (ranch, fetta cheese etc) with a piece of meat (chicken, roast, turkey, pork...) and a repeat for dinner. Have jello in between meals if you are wanting a snack. Also make sure you are getting enough water in.... aim for 100 ounces. Are you using real cream or something like coffee mate in the coffee? How much splenda are you using in the coffee? --- Kathleen Durham wrote: > > I have been doing this for two days. Guest guest
Hi Susie, If you are hungry, why not eat? It doesn't look to me like you are eating nearly enough, and if you are just starting, I would probably hold off on the Atkins shakes until after induction. Eat real foods, you could add more meat and more veggies. If the salad didn't have lots of veggies and other things in it, you have plenty of room left. The hardest things to remember when you start, particularly if you were doing low fat before, is that it is okay to eat when hungry and fat is your friend. The more fat you eat, the less hungry you will feel. I would probably also switch from creamer to cream, but it probably isn't a big enough amount to throw you off. As to the insomnia and headache, I don't know the answer, other than to take a Tylenol PM type of thing. Jean190/142/13512/7/
Guest guest
I read somewhere that said always try to eat protein with your salad, you will feel less hungry longer. Example ceasar and chicken, etc. Tonight I cook chicken in the oven, with spices only I place about 1 tbsp of water underneath to start it. I was using cast iron, oven 325F, I prefer slower, since it taste better and doesn't shinrk as much. In about half way, I placed frozen asparagus (cheaper) on the bottom and the chicken on top, until cook, oh ya I turn the asparagus once. Since they soak themselve on the chicken fat and spices, It was good and easy to do. try cream, less carb for coffee are you on a no fat diet? I would be starving too. For all: Here is my day. 2 fried eggs, salt, pepper, vegi with 1/2 slice of thick ham, coffee with cream, splenda chicken ceasar salad, water (no bread crumbs) bacon bits 3 chicken thigs with asparagus/parmesan cheese, green tea 8 (ten cent size) macadami nuts, water. Is this ok for Atkins? ----- Original Message ----- From: Kathleen Durham To: HELPMELIST and I am starving. Breakfast: leftover baked chicken breast, water, coffee with creamer and splenda Snack: Atkins shake, water Lunch: Big salad with vinagar and lemon pepper, water Snack: Porkrinds Macadamia nuts, water It is 3:42, and I have three small kids who are making me want a big ole chocolate cake! GRR I am going to go have a cup of decaf with some creamer and splenda... Susie

Guest guest
Deepta- Hi! I do remember you and Amita -- of course!! Glad to hear things are going well, considering. Same here for Aubrie. She's entering 1st grade in the regular classroom with an aide. She is reading already so academically she is doing quite well. Fine motor is her biggest obstacle in the classroom. Speech continues to be difficult for outsiders to understand, but those who know her can understand most of the time. Her aide has been with her for several years and she is a gem, so we are fortunate. Medically, she has been doing well. Very very few illnesses -- and those are just ear infections, runny nose, etc. We thought we were sailing along until this Jan when we had a check up with the orthopedic dr. We had been following for kyphosis and watching for scoliosis. Well, her hips have been getting more and more unstable over the past 2 years (since our last checkup) and she had to have major surgery. She's in a body cast right now for about 3 more weeks, we hope. She had bilateral hip socket reconstruction and osteotomy of the femur -- 4 major procedures at once. It's the biggest thing we've encountered since her birth. The surgery and hospitalization went very well and she's doing great at home. She is so excited to go back to school. We visited yesterday to be sure her wheelchair will get through the classroom ok etc. Our post-op visit is tomorrow so then we'll know for sure when the cast will come off. Soon after that check up when we got the news about the hip surgery, we had a consult with a plastic surgeon about external ear reconstruction. He heard her speech and was sure he could help with a repair of her submucous cleft palate. We'd just been through extensive speech testing at our ENTs and they decided against a surgical intervention. Well, we went ahead and had her palate repaired and her ears done in the spring. So we've had 2 big surgeries this year. I have a whole new appreciation for what people go through who have to deal with this kind of thing on a regular basis. I am hoping this is the end of it for us for a while, but I may be disappointed. She'll have plates in her hips surgically removed next year and I think the ear dr might recommend a revision (but we may forego that for now). It's great to have you back. I look forward to hearing more about Amita- Michele W Aubrie's mom 6 yrs
Guest guest
Deepta!!! Nice to hear from you again.... Kennedy is doing great, getting ready for grade one, starting Brownies and going back to Dance Class. She had open heart surgery this year, but bounced right back after. She is doing well otherwise, medically though (knock wood!!!). I am glad to hear Amita is more oral with her eating, K is still on the tube, I am hoping someday. In the meantime, she has learned to do her tube feeds on her own, which is a good thing, it's pretty cute to watch, if the tubes get too stiff, she puts it on her chin or her forehead to push it in, what a kid.... Anyway, it's GREAT to hear from you again, I've been wondering about you all... Weir Mom to Kennedy 6 yr old with CHARGE, 15, 13 and wife to Graeme. I used to post quite often about 2- 3 years ago. Let me update on Amita, my 5 year old Charger. She just started going to the deaf ed oral program for kindergarten here. She is doing ok, I guess, same old allergies and weight issues and other stuff. Have gotten used to it. Read about the watery eye probs with interest, going thru that right now with her. Here's my experience with the weight issue.. Amita is severely casein (milk protein)intolerent. Allergic to bananas, apple juice and grape juice and eggs. I am too scared to give her nuts.. almonds, cashews, PEANUTS, but if ur kid can have that they are an excellent source of protein. She was on Neocate 1 + for the last 2 years but am now pushing to get rid of that (tastes awful, can only be given thru g- tube). I am vegetarian, so that limits our diet. I am giving her soy milk, soy pudding, soy yogurt, grains like rice, wheat (tortillas) and lots of lentils (for protein), and lots of veggies and fruit now. I do cook her food in clarified butter. I used to blend everything and push it down with a syringe and plunger thru the g- tube, but it was very hard work. Now she is more oral. I remember that there were parents (kennnedy, aubrie and others) with kids the same age as Amita. Do email me if u are still on the list I would love to get an update on all of them and tell about Amita too. Guest guest
We missed you too Hun, welcome back Hugs Akiba -- hi Hi Bill and everyone. I'm back. I'm done being a chauffeur for my friend . Been doing that since 6/5. She started a new job on Monday and got her new car last week. She's the friend who moved to Italy. I used to watch her dogs. She left her husband. I was in PA from Thurs until Monday. I met some friends there. We had a blast. In June the judge made the decision to stop my spousal support payments from Steve. We went back to court on 8/30 and the judge is still thinking about it. So I'm living on $750 month. I'm living with my parents. My house actually sold and did not foreclose. That was a process let me tell ya. But glad I saved my credit. Saved his too but oh well. My crohns flared last month. I had an infection so I was on antibiotics. I had a mild pseudo exasperation while on the Cipro. The MS is pretty much still in the same place. Burning legs and fatigue are the worst for me still. the heat and humidity still play with me too. I loved the cool weather in the hills of PA. But here in IN the heat is coming back. I hope all is well with everyone. I have a lot of catching up to do with the newbies and catching up with the oldies...lol I missed you all! x0x0x0 ShirleyMS-Bill <wj.foulkeinsightbb> wrote: Hi Shirley what have you been up to? Glad to see you logged in. Bill A little prayer support please This morning is September's Angel Food Ministries Distribution Day. I will be very busy all day with this event, plus we are training a new church on how to run a d-day operation. I have been up since 4am with excitement. This time last month I was using a walker, barely walking or functioning. Today I am up, ready to go and excited about the day. I do know though I need to PACE myself, rest some during the day and take time to breath; these are things I am not apt at doing yet. Suffice it to say, could you hold me up a little bit today?
