Are you introducing foods one at a time, gradually in small amounts? Perhaps you are not cooking the squash long enough. Long strings will scrape out easily. I bake mine in the oven cut side down in a Pyrex pie plate with 1/2 inch of water added at 375 for about 45 minutes or until the skin side looks a bit collapsed and soft. Cooked vegetables should not be kept more than a day or two in the fridge as they lose their nutrients. Carol F. SCD 3 yrs. Celiac
Guest guest
It has a hard skin so no way to tell if it is bad unless there are soft spots. I've kept it in fridge (uncooked) for 2 weeks with no problem. I steam mine in the microwave - (for a 1/2 squash) glass dish, about 1 cup water, covered with plastic wrap - else as a whole, just pierce the skin a couple of times with a long fork before cooking - until a long fork pierces the skin easily. Seems like the last one took about 10-12 minutes at high - but they each are different. AMK > Does anyone know how to pick a ripe spaghetti squash?
