Guest guest
Have a conversation with Landmark (based in California). They are using claims data to set standards of performance for physical therapists (especially in Michigan) - all based on number of visits. Ask questions though... I'm sure you'd want to know the age of the patients and the location of the patients and the benefit policies and the frequency of the various benefit policies. Landmark will proudly tell you how they " risk-adjust " and create categories using diagnoses/diagnostic groups. I know you can't hear my tone... but I'm not a fan of how Landmark is using the data (of course, dictated by BCBSM too). Landmark lost my respect years ago when I asked questions face to face with the representatives sent out to Michigan prior to rolling out the " quality " program. In my opinion, they don't know their data - I believe it is tied to Ingenix. Oh, my... that's another company for which I have zero respect. Their manipulation of data makes me want to vomit. FOTO might be open to discussing that kind of information with you. In my opinion, that company is hugely more reputable than the other two I mentioned. I know one person in Michigan who might be willing to entertain your line of questions: Bob Wiersma: http://www.linkedin.com/in/bobwiersma I haven't personally met him, but I've had great email discussions with him. Best of luck... Selena Horner, PT ton, MI > > I am looking for national and regional benchmarks for average number of visits > for hospital based outpatient physical therapy clinics.
