Guest guest
if your daughter needs lithium, why not use the new beginnings lithium? It is a good option and is a natural lithium that won't cause those issues.nancy jSubject: Re: Teeth Grinding? To: mb12 valtrex Date: Friday, March 26, 2010, 5:05 PM My daughter took the supplement, Lithium Orotate, and it caused her to grind her teeth horribly. I found out by removing supplements, then starting them back up one at a time, and she began grinding again after I started the Lithium Orotate. I took her off of it again, and the grinding stopped. That was a while ago. Recently, I tried the Lithium Orotate one more time, and sure enough, the grinding started again. And it sounds horrible, especially when she does it at night in her sleep. Guest guest
Wow, great detective work with the lithium!! Sometimes no matter what u do, u just can't narrow it down. I guess causes can really be so different in each of our little bugs, as well as the same! Since you bring up the lithium orotate, first of all, I thought that was the natural form??? I'll have to compare with the New Beginnings site? When I started Kara on the lithium orotate she began to hit herself in the head? Thought maybe it might have been causing headaches or something so I weaned her off. Well the head hitting has only gotten worse as I have posted before. So don't really know whether the lithium was the cause or not?? It could have just been a new behavior that happened to come on at the same time. I started the lithium almost a year ago, gave it about 2 months then was afraid because of the head hitting. Would think once you stopped the supp the head hitting would have stopped too?? So I don't really know. I did notice a nice calmness and ability to sit for therapies while on the lithium. Overall demeanor seemed better, I would like to try it again. Besides the grinding, did you notice any other positives?? If so, what dose were you at? Maybe the grinding would begin to decrease once her levels were more stable. Just curious. Thanks. Guest guest
I hadn't noticed the lithium orotate doing what I, and my daughter's DAN dr. at that time, were expecting it to do. My daughter (she'll be 8 in May) has EXTREME irrational fears, that come on overnight. We've been dealing with this since she was 3 years old. Examples of her irrational fears: the moss on the ground, the MGM lion that roars in front of many black-and-white movies, a harmless picture of an apple hanging in my dining room since BEFORE she was born, the Hormel pepperoni package, the Stroheman bread package, the trees outside (we live on almost an acre TREED lot). Those are just to name a few. When her fears begin, its quite noticeable. One day she is fine with the objects, the next day, she is starts looking sideways, which is what she does to avoid looking at what is triggering her fears. She does a complete turnaround: won't go outside and play (she is typically an outdoor loving girl), won't get what she wants out of the refrigerator, won't walk in the dining room (you have to go through my dining room in order to get into the kitchen, family room, laundry room, powder room, and backdoor), she SCREAMS and fights you if you try to force her to go anywhere near where her fear trigger is at. This is just to name SOME of what I'm dealing with, that I was hoping the lithium orotate would help. Because we've been dealing with these for so long, and the fact that her fears are control her life, I am probably going to try rx. meds. soon. I tried avoiding them for years now, and the fears are not decreasing. She is now closing all my shades in order to not have to look at the trees. I'm a sunlight loving person, so I can't live in the dark for much longer. I don't belittle her fears, so I indulge some of her 'isms' that go along with them, just so that she is comfortable, but I would have loved to have found something that maybe she was depleted in, supplementally, that could have rectified this problem. Unfortunately, after testing the first time, she was found to be slightly low in lithium. But the next time I did lab work, that was within normal range. I am planning to try the MMS that someone had started a thread about. Who knows, maybe that could kill something that is causing these irrational fears. So, to sum it up, the lithium orotate did not do what we had hoped. But hopefully, it has worked for others. Karmen Teeth Grinding? Guest guest
my 3 year old has alot of fears also, animals (even small birds), water, alot of commercials, even cartoons he once loved. we are not for the most part bio medical. so im interested to know what has brought these fears out. some were there since the regression. like having his hair washed, or water on the face, and dogs. but the rest are new. we are doing homeopathy now, and that has helped, he likes my moms cat now and doesnt run from dogs, or try and climb me when he sees one. the water one has gotten better also, but the rest are still there. we have tried very few supplaments but im wondering what could have triggered this, any ideas out there? oh, and we also have teeth gtitting not grinding. sharon To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Sun, March 28, 2010 8:55:03 AMSubject: Re: Teeth Grinding? Guest guest
That's really tough. I can only imagine how much these fears must be controlling her life and yours. I sympathize with you and hope things get better. There has to be some underlying cause for it. Especially how it comes and goes??? Safe to assume you have done all the dietary interventions? Have not noticed that certain foods on that particular day might trigger it? Are you treating gut yeast and bacteria??? I am sure you have already been through all of this. Just trying to hit all the areas that usually are causes for behaviors.....Hopefully someone else will post with a suggestion that might help. This is the first time I have read about a kids "irrational fears." My Kara is deathly afraid of "BIG BIRD" and very long hallways, like in a hospital??? I think the hallway thing is just not knowing what to expect or anticipate when she gets to the end. We have worked through it, but BIG BIRD is another story!!!! Have a good day. Re: Teeth Grinding? Guest guest
That is what we are looking for, something to increase focus and have more patience at school. Maybe I will try it? I wonder what the difference is between what you used and the lithium orotate capsules? I'll have to research it. Thanks. Re: Teeth Grinding? Guest guest
Hi,The reason we didn't go with orotate is our NP said in some kids it can cause nerve damage long term. The ionic lithium doesn't seem to have that issue. We never researched it because she is pretty versed in that type of thing, so we went with the ionic and have had absolutely no problem with it. It is simple to dose too. For years we just dropped it on his tongue. It tastes a bit like salt water. No dosing issues at all. We do 5 drops 2xdaily.nancy j From: kcboone <kcboonecomcast (DOT) net> Subject: Re: Teeth Grinding? Guest guest
Thanks for your post , I have done biomedical, dietary, kept a journal several years ago, supplements, NAET, AIT, chiropractic neurology, mb12 shots and nasal, transdermal supplements, and I'm sure many more that are just not coming to mind at the time. I'm in tons of debt, as I'm sure most of us are, due to trying to find out what can help my daughter. But, unfortunately, I haven't found it biomedically yet, so I am currently looking into rx. meds. because the fears are controlling her life now, more than ever. I will try the MMS prior to doing rx. meds. in the chance that what is causing these fears is parasitic or bacterial in nature, and nothing has killed it thus far. I spoke with my DAN dr. this weekend, and told her that I'd be scheduling an appt. with her in the upcoming weeks so that we can discuss rx. med. avenues worth trying. I would like to try Valtrex, and put my daughter back on Diflucan, although previously the Diflucan did nothing for her fears. Still, I think its worth doing a thorough yeast cleaning out. I do notice that after my daughter is on an antibiotic (and the Tamiflu viral med. she was on when she got the flu this past November) that she seemed more focused. But again, the fears didn't dissipate. But I wonder if a longer round of anti-virals might be something she needs. Thanks again, Karmen Teeth Grinding? Guest guest
My son had teeth grinding in the past. The homeopathic remedy Cina helped and has helped others I know with this issue, including biting the nails. I used 6x & 12x potencies. My son also has irrational fears since he developed autism at 18 months, including the MGM lion. My husband is Mexican, and when we went to Mexico, we took him to a couple of different healers in town who " treated " him for fear. I noticed that some of what they did was similar to Reiki, so we have done that for my son. He likes it. Anyway, we eliminated all but a few fears this way. Reiki can be expensive, so I am trying to learn to do it myself. We have also done almost everything under the sun (diets, supplements, homeopathy, herbs, valtrex, diflucan, ABA, etc). BTW ABA has been working for several years on the last few fears my son has with 0 success. Guest guest
Thanks for posting your information Carol, I'm so glad that someone's child has been helped by natural methods, for fears. I've never done Reiki, but its something to look into.
