Guest guest
Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I am having a bad day after from my Rebif injection last night. I hate the flu symptoms and they tend to hit me hard. I did not get to sleep until 5:00 this morning after taking my shot. I always do the pre-medicate thing but it does not help much for some reason so I am just a bit fussy. I live in East Tennessee and work out of DC so I get to actually work from home. If it were not for that I probably would have had to quit by now. I have been married for 26 years and have 2 grown sons. I also have a cat and 3 yappy little dogs in the house to keep me on my toes and under my feet! I am the oldest girl of 10 children and do not have anyone in my family with MS. I don't even know anyone personally who has MS so I have been surfing to educate myself. I was really glad to find this site. Most of the MS forums do not have that much current activity but this one sure does buzz. Thanks again for making me feel welcome and hugs and blessings to all. Guest guest
Hi Debi, I also used to do the Rebif thing. I'm not good at taking meds, so I've been off of it for a couple years. I had a real hard time with it also. I have insomnia most of the time as it is, but Rebif would make it a lot worse. Other than not remembering to take my shots as I should, I did fairly well on it. I'm glad you're with us. I really think you'll like it here. Lots of friendly people who are more than willing to give advice, a loving ear to listen to you rant, a shoulder to cry on, and plenty of information if you are unable to find it elsewhere. We don't judge or condemn, for we, of all people, know just what it's like to live with this beast known as the MonSter. Love and blessings.... Guest guest
Hi Debi, I also take Rebif injections. I take it right before I go to bed—3 Ibuprofen, then the injection and into bed. I find that if I do it that way I am able to sleep through the symptoms. I did have the achy flu-like symptoms to start with but have found now they are gone or I just sleep through them. I have had to give myself the injection in the daytime while traveling and it gives me a horrible headache. I was on Avonex for a full year before Rebif and could never shake the fever and headache after each injection. Guest guest
Hi Debi,And welcome to this list! (don't think I did say that when you joined, last week was kind of busy for me). I don't have MS, but my wife, , has. She takes Rebif, and gets the flu symptoms (despite pre-medication etc). Not that that helps you a lot ; ) I guess I just wanted to let you know you are not alone in that. Have you been on Rebif for a long time? Sometimes the side effects do get better, or may even disappear, with time. Does it always keep you from sleeping? In 's case that's only now and then, but she does tend to get aching joints and muscles on the day after the shot. You seem to have a busy house, with the dogs and the cat! Guest guest
Debi, I have trouble with Rebif too, usually if I pre-medicate it is tolerable. I have noticed that one box will bother me, and the next box won't. I'm wondering if some batches are stronger than others? Maybe... Jolie > Hi Debi, > > And welcome to this list!
