Guest guest
>>>> One of the ingredients is Saw Palmetto extracted from a berry and it is used for prostrate cancer. It looks like the lauricidin is the purified extract from saw palmetto. Lauricidin is the active ingredient pulled out in the oil, and the product does not contain actual squashed saw palmetto berries. It is the fat/oil lauric acid attached to glycerol which is SCD approved. Both Seth and Elaine commented on glycerol not being a sugar alcohol and okay for SCD in the FAQ on glycerin at www.breakingtheviciouscycle.com On the surface it looks okay, but I can't find a true ingredient list of the product. Anyone that can rattle off what is on the label? Also I want to contact the company because sometimes there are things that are undeclared on the label (legally allowed) but are in the product. What is on the website might not be as technically accurate as we are looking for here. For example, in the past I read it said to take the product 1 hour away from any digestive enzymes because of an interaction. However, upon contacting the company as to why or how this works, the reply was that there was just speculation that lipase enzymes (fat breaking) might breakdown the product and lessen the effectiveness. But this was just theory and only applied to lipase enzymes, no other ones. Of course, lipase is produced by your pancreas anyway....does the label say to take away from meals? Will check into this. If Seth or Elaine says the product is okay, I'll skip this. You can always try it and see if it is beneficial. Fun Fact: Saw Palmetto is a member of the botanical Palm family - Palmaceae. Coconut is also a member of this palm family. And the lauric acid is common to both.

Guest guest
I use this product. You do need to start with a just a couple of pellets and then build your way up. I've been using it for about a year and am happy with it. I don't use it every day. Penny and , Re: Lauricidin Since I am unfamiliar with supplements I have emailed De Felice for her opinion because it is essential that Penny doesn't use anything doubtful until Kenzie gets on track. If other parents know this supplement to be SCD legal I would appreciate hearing more about that. Carol F. Celiac Adult SCD 2 3/4 years. Basically, I think it is fine, but wait just a couple days until I hear back. That way you won't even have to worry about it at all...it won't ship before Monday anyway at the very earliest. It's just that SCD has special restrictions that just aren't an issue with other eating plans so things come up that don't otherwise come up. If he is active in autism groups, he has likely heard about SCD already. .

Guest guest
Before we started Lauricidin Elaine was still on the list and someone asked her if it was legal and she said it was. Check out this post on Lyris from Elaine... http://lyris.dundee.net/read/messages?id=264301#264301 this is what it says: All I could find on lauricidin is written by companies selling it. It sounds fairly innocuous and if the SCD is not moving fast enough for you, why not try using it. I thought I remember her saying more definitely that Lauricidin was legal, but haven't found that reference yet. This is info we really ought to save somewhere - in the supplements list?? -- Sue, mom to Adam and It
