Guest guest
Hi everyone, Had my latest appointment this morning and they looked at my log. I am to keep a log of what I eat and what my numbers are, so I have to be very specific. Well, they said I wasn't eating enough fruit, but I thought that I was eating some and was a little bit worried about the sugar that seems to naturally occur in most fruits, so I could use some help here. I have some canned pears and peaches, that I eat, that are in Splenda and not a syrrup, and I can eat one of those cans, as a snack and then eat some protein with it, like cheese, which I try to do. ANother snack I do is tomatoes, with a protein. I have had 1/2 a banana, when we buy them, when my daughter decides she is in the mood to eat them, which she goes through cycles. Are there any other fruits, either canned or fresh that I can have and how do I figure out how much I can eat? Before I got diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes, I did eat apples, oranges, grape fruits (which I did have to put some sugar on, but I guess I could try splenda), bananas, etc. Thanks in advance for any help. Overall, they are quite pleased with my diet. I had a great appointment, baby looked great on ultrasound, moving a ton, as usual, and I wasn't swollen this AM, so since I wasn't retaining as much water, as usual, my weight was down by 4 pounds from Friday! WOW! That didn't seem to concern them, considering I'm 34 weeks pregnant, so I guess I have been carrying around 4 pounds of water, on most days, in my legs and hands. I go back on Friday, for another non-stress test, if I don't go in sooner. I am still have periodic contractions, but they are usually fairly spaced out. The nurse practitioner I saw today said she didn't think they were Braxton Hicks, because how regular they got on Sunday and how painful they were. She thought they were truly very early labor and my body is getting ready for the marathon job ahead of me. It's anyone's guess if the contractions will keep up, now at 2 1/2 days, or if they will go away for awhile and come back a bit closer to the real time. Basically, I was told, that if the contractions get to what they were on Sunday, again, to give them a call and head in, immediately, after they've been in that 4 to 7 minute range for more than 2 hours. During business hours, I'll go to them, birst, after hours and weekends, I'll go to the Labor and Delivery Department. If during business hours, if I go to them and I am in true labor, don't worry, they are located inside the hospital, on the same floor as the Labor and Delivery ward, so it's like a short walk to that area. So, I'll keep you all posted, as best I can and again, thanks in advance for any fruit help.
