Guest guest
Well Cy, it sounds to me like you need to undergo the standard barrage of tests for diabetes, including tests like your A1C and triglycerides. You say you are on no meds, and that your diet has changed slightly. Have you considered reverting back to your previous diet to see if that makes any difference? Your readings appear to be typical of someone who has type 2, and maybe your diet and otherwise good health explain why your readings are not much higher. Yesterday my fasting BS was 115 and this morning it was 114. Last evening before supper it was 189 and my 2 hour post was 179. Yes, those readings are high and I am still trying to figure out wuzzup. (LOL) I am on no medication, just changed my diet a bit. Cy, The Anasazi

Guest guest
Nurse , I have already had a raft of blood work and, interestingly, nothing out of the ordinary has shown up. My blood stats were actually very good as of about 3 weeks ago. Now, this morning my fasting reading was 106. Yesterday was 114 and the day before was 115. The fasting readings are coming down. I will check during the day to see what they look like. I really am working with a doctor. My HDL is a bit low but my LDL is within range. I have quit the midnight snacks because, when I( woke up the other night, I thought I saw Nurse standing at the end of my bed with an enormous syringe loaded with insulin and she told me that if I ate that snack she was going to run that syringe up to the hilt. (LOL) Take care and stand by for more info. Guest guest
Hi Dave, Well, I do not think I want to go back to my previous eating habits just yet. I want to see if my reading continue to fall while on this diet. My triglycerides are good as of about 3 weeks ago. My HDL needs to come up a good bit but Doc has me on some supplements to help with that. The 106 this morning makes me think that the diet is working well. I have never been able to catch my BS readings high until about a week or so ago. After a meal my BS was 295 or so and I nearly fainted from the news. I am the one who loved all manner of baked goodies but never had a problem from them. I really am working with the Doc and we shall see what we shall see. I suspect that I really will need some form of medication to combat this problem but, for right now, I am trying to see where my levels are by adjusting my diet. Dang, one never knows what tomorrow will bring. I find that I do not miss the sugar at all and actually prefer not to have it. This is another real surprise to me for sure. Guest guest
Did they do an A1C, Cy? If so, what was it? Realy they are saying that unless your fasting BG is under 100, you are probably diabetic-or at least prediabetic. It's food you are working on yur diet to prevent the full onslaught!
