Guest guest
I am n Rojas, aged 71.5+, diagnosed (accurately, alas) with MS in 1956 by Roy Swank, M.D., one of the world's most entertaining MS specialists and neurologists in Portland, Oregon. So, I joined this wonderful online family a few years ago. I got to know people and we became genuine friends. It began to dawn on me--abeit slowly--that I wanted to "give back" as I was receiving so much from everyone, so I began to think. . . and . . . to imagine. . . what if. . . and then it came to me: Magic Cruises on Ship MS, in which while we were onboard the ship we would have no MS symptoms, be treated royally, and could go anywhere in the world that we wanted--avoiding, of course, the Bermuda Triangle! So, first I took us to the Caribbean. Many list members added things for me. No seasickness--no vertigo, not ever, whether MS-related or not. Done. Superb chefs who just knew what each of us needed and wanted. Done. The crew: Our list founder and moderator, Sharon and her daughter, Challis. Done. Lounge chairs on deck, one for each of us. Done. We even went to Alaska, where Sharon had once lived in order to watch the calving off of ice due to Global Warming! I have lost track of all the places we had visited, but I am working on the Mediterranean next. All suggestions welcome. I decided that just even imagining a few days or weeks without: peripheral neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia, vertigo, muscle weakness, almost losing the use of my legs, and a few other advantages just might be worth the effort to organize. I have not yet gotten to a visit to the sites likely to be coming up with either genetic or stem cell intervention or a cure, yet, but as these appear we can find ways--this all being a large-scale fantasy--to visit them. So, for the Mediterranean, I would love suggestions. I have my own list, of course, as my whole family comes from Italy, Spain, Morocco and even Turkey. Of course I have added a few reality features: That Akiba and her sweet son, Robbin, could join us, and that many of you could bring loved ones along. We can wear our glasses and any who have hearing aids, etc., can bring those, too. But all MS signs and symptoms shall temporarily vanish and only slowly re-ap pear upon your returning home. So, that is my welcome to you all: join us on our next cruise to the Mediterranean. Love to you all, n Rojas, 71.5+, Oakland, California, where, when it is clear, I can see San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge (red) from my windows
