We have been approached by a personal trainer to lease out our clinic space in the evening for his use. Has anyone had any experience with this type of arrangement? If so, what do you charge? Lots of things to consider--my lessee had a master's degree in ex phys, and a strong reputation, so I felt I could trust the quality. Unless you greet every person who walks in the door and tell them that the trainer is just leasing space from you, you will own some part of the quality that happens during those session, for better or for worse. I was told that gyms charge a 20- 25% commission, 20% worked well for us. Other issues to consider are that personal trainers sometimes think that they are PT's and will try to treat issues that should be in your hands...lots of things to think about. That's a cash based direct access service instead of farming that out to someone encroaching on our profession? Adam P.
