offlist contact of other members

Hi Everyone,

I don’t want to make a big deal out of this or start a

big discussion, but I understand that a member has contacted at least one other

member offlist for what appears to be promotional reasons. I know we have IE

professionals in this group, and I encourage everyone to post, share your

experience, encouragement, etc. But it is inappropriate for a member to be

contacted offlist to offer services or products – especially unsolicited,

I won’t even do this as list owner.

I want this to be a safe place where everyone can come and

get support and share what is going on for you without having to be concerned

about being solicited to. I am not aware of any other incidents like this

happening here, and if it happens or has happened to any of you, please let me

know. At times I myself will post a promotion of something I am doing and will

also allow postings from other professionals if the product or service appears

to be of value to all of you. I know many of you have formed offlist

friendships from the group, and I encourage that, I have done the same.

Bottom line, this member has been removed and I hope this

takes care of the problem. If you have any questions, concerns, or otherwise,

please let me know. I want to keep the integrity of this group, it’s a

place of support and everyone is entitled to maintain their privacy. J
